Canon Image Press

We use hot press for many of our fine art prints. Any image where the texture of cold press would be a problem will be printed on hot press bright or natural. These papers are heavy and have real substance to them. They have nice smooth surfaces and show the color very well.

Love 'em! Image stabilization makes all the difference for astronomy and watching nature. Simply press and hold a button and all the shaking movements go away. Panning across the sky works just as well too. Optical are really good.

I am a big fan of Epson's Signature Worthy photographic papers, but my main gripe would be the variability in the reproduction of the image. What looks great (and matches my monitor) on Cold Press Bright (CPB) and Exhibition Fiber Paper (EFP) may look more washed out in, say, the Cold Press or Hot Press Natural papers. Consequently, if I really want to use one of the latter papers, I then have to make pre-printing adjustments to my image, which involves a certain amount of guesswork. Since this I refuse to do, I decided a long time ago that i would ONLY use CPB for my matte paper and EFP for my luster paper. Curious about the new Legacy line, however, I ordered the sample pack and printed the same image, without any editing adjustments, on all four papers. Lo and behold, there was very little variability in the prints even though Legacy Etching and Legacy Baryta are more natural whites. In other words, no more worries about washed-out prints like I had with the Cold/Hot Press Natural papers! This gives me more printing options with predictable results, so Legacy Etching and Legacy Baryta are now my matte and luster papers of choice when a natural white is more harmonious with my image. While pricier than the Signature Worthy line, there are just those times when a natural white goes better with a given image than the bright white of CPB/EFP. Plus, the cream-colored mats that I use - vivid white being my other regular mat color - look wonderful with the Legacy Etching/Baryta papers.

The device works beautifully with my Canon 6D. It is very simple and easy to use--just press the button. It doesn't fall out of its slot in the camera (as I understand it was an issue with the similar, but much more expensive, remote from Canon). The best thing about it is the price--under $10.00. If one day it fails, I wouldn't feel bad about it, just get the replacement. Great product.

The hood is nicer than I expected, same functionality as my canon hoods, press to release bayonet, etc. seems as rugged as the canon hoods too. Do the math, make your own choice - glad I got this one.

I love the bright white cold press Epson paper. The colors look like velvet with my Canon printer. Very pretty paper. Also love the thickness/heaviness. Thanks!

I was a Canon shooter for many years, then I bought the Sony A7R IV and WOW what a camera it is. Many say the menu is large and confusing but all one has to do is take the time to study it. The menu is large for a reason and all your favorite features can be put in their own menu and made to come up when you press the menu button. I like how the camera fits in my hands and its fit and finish are all very nice. The 24x70mm lens is a bit heavy but it is a G-Master and has a lot of professional grade glass. This is not a point and shoot so I just have to get use to the weight. I also love that with the press of a button I can change from full sensor mode to APS-C crop sensor mode. I could go on and on parsing this camera, but you get the idea, I am impressed.

I used it with my Canon 7D this past weekend for some long exposure Seascapes. It hooked into the socket with no problems. Operated my auto focus with a half press of the button and released the shutter with the full press as it should. Works perfectly and at a fraction of the price of the exact same Canon model. If you need it for a 7D it's the way to go.

We have other Canon image stabilizer binoculars but these are by far the sharpest.
