Canon Ixus 50 Camera

I am a 50 year canon shooter, and this is the most awesome camera I have purchased so far. Including the EOS1DS mark 2. You have to use it to really see what I am talking about. For about 20 years I have had to sharpen images or brighten them in post for print. Not with this camera.

I use them to clean my sensor on my Canon 20d. I also use them to clean the lens or anything else on the camera. I also used them to clean my grandma's film slides that had 50 years of dust on them and it worked great. They didn't scratch or fall apart at all.

I've been an exclusively-Canon photographer (amateur) for 50 years. This year I sold all my Canon lenses and equipment and full-frame body, and bought this amazing camera. It is so capable with a 24-600mm zoom that I find to be sharp, undistorted and well-saturated throughout the range. I gave up the big sensor of my Canon. But I find this smaller one to be almost as good mated with this permanent lens. And all this for less than half the weight of carrying around the equivalent Canon equipment. It's the old adage, "the best camera is the one you're carrying." Well, because of the ease of carrying this one, I carry it a lot more. For me, this is the perfect camera.

Bough this cable to connect Canon R 50 to my Viltrox . I needed a cable with a 90 degree because on the R 50 the connection is on the right…same side as the camera grip !! The cable works well and is relatively comfortable while holding camera. You still have to be careful when handling so as not risk to damaging the connector .

After reading reviews I decided to buy the camera anyway, after all it's a canon. I own 50, 60 and 80D cameras and have been very satisfied. The in camera video editing is nice and I downloaded software to extract single frames. I have none of the issues some people talked about. This is an excellent camera.

I'm using this on a Canon C100 camera system with 15mm rods, to support my Sigma 50-100 f/1.8 lens. The lens support is just tall enough to support the lens at the widest part of the lens barrel at the front end. Many matte box risers are adjustable though, so I could adjust the camera height to accommodate other lens options. It works very well. I'm glad I purchased it.

I bought this Canon 50mm at 50% off due to a special offer by Canon through B&H. It was a can't pass up opportunity! I Paid $100 for a new lens that just about everyone who uses it loves and every camera bag needs! After receiving it, I took it outside to check it out on my R10 and it fully met my expectations! With the crop sensor essentially making my 50mm lens actually an 85mm lens, I was amazed by both the sharpness and the background blur (bokeh) it produced. I will be soon using it more for outdoor shooting now that sun is shining in Southern California! But this RF 50mm lens was one that I knew I MUST HAVE with my kit when I purchased my R10 camera a couple of months ago. So far, it's doing everything and more than I hoped for!

Seeing that this case had been bought by others with the Canon XA-50 camera, besides that I liked the design, I decided to buy it myself. I am very satisfied with it. It is a bit big for the dimensions of the camera, but I think it is very good that I can put a sun gun lamp and headphones with it, which I almost always need to carry for my recordings.

I am able to use my polarized filter now on my Canon SX 50 and Canon 50 D. Makes it easy to use the same filter on both camera. Also, saved me from having to buy two filters.

HD is now affordable. For no more than my first camcorder, or my first digital camcorder, I just watched video from my HV20 on my 55 inch HDTV and I am hard-pressed to find any difference from broadcast quality HD. I shot indoors at the hockey rink, outside at a soccer game, and close-up in the garden. The instant autofocus & image stabilization were most impressive when I was taking shots of honeybees on my wife's lavender bushes. The shot was ruined by the sound of three WWII fighter planes overhead. I picked up the camera, tripod and all, and it caught the planes as soon as I could get them in the viewfinder, going from about 24 to almost 1000' just like that. The clarity and color are fantastic. Problems Encountered: No problems other than getting used to new equipment. I recommend using an external microphone as the clear picture seems to make sounds coming from behind the camera seem more out of place and disconnected from the action on screen. In no way is this a slam against the onboard stereo mics, but the jingling dogtags of a mutt at my feet was definitely louder than the girls playing soccer 50' away. There was no noticeable camera noise. Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Original Canon Elura, Optima 200MC, Sharp and Sony 8mm Items I Recommend: Tripod, Canon DM-50 Shotgun Microphone, Extra Battery
