Canon Mirrorless Camera 4K Video

We typically travel with a DSLR, a mirrorless 4K video camera, and one or two snapshot-type fixed lens cameras. Naturally, all take different batteries. With the Watson system (and it is a system) we only need one charger body (multi-voltage for international travel) and a small, thin adapter plate for each battery. Really cuts down on what you need to carry.

Using this tripod in a video rig with a Sony mirrorless camera, long Canon FD lenses (300mm - 400mm), Atomos Ninja V, Fotga matte box. Handles the tasks very well.

Currently, the A7Siii is unmatched in performance for a 4K video camera. The only possible exception is Canon R5. However, The R5's video recording limitation due to overheating knocks it out of the running for a serious video work. The A7Siii also does very credible photography as long as one does not need to print larger than 20. Highly recommended.

The Canon 1D X Mark II is the dream camera that any still and motion photographer has been waiting for. The touch screen SERVO autofocus on video will set the standard for future DSLR cameras centered around video, the stills are as sharp as you will ever need, the 4k at 60fps makes all your footage that much more versatile in post. My only complaint is that 4k at 60fps eats memory like crazy. C-log would have been nice too. All together the camera we have been looking and waiting for. Just when people think Canon has lost their touch, they do it again.

I love it for photos enough that I'm still giving it 5 stars. For video, I'd give it 1 star. I bought this camera with the benefit of a doubt that I can use it for video on occasion. It was not worth the extra money. Being an owner of the GH5, I would never recommend this camera for someone looking to shoot a lot of 4K video or even 1080p video with it over something more dedicated. Canon Log, although 8-bit, is light years ahead of 10-bit V-Log L. You can really shoot with Canon Log all the time, and never have issues with pulling out good video footage. Try that with other log profiles and you're really asking for trouble. The biggest problem with 4K on the 5D4 is the rolling shutter. It's really bad. People's faces get wobbly for tight portrait shots. Couple that with the inability to handhold it because it lacks IBIS, you got a wobbly video camera with amazing Canon Log that only works in very select situations. The crop isn't too bad if you use zoom lenses, but if you use primes, it just doesn't make sense to bounce back from the crop factor. 1080p is very usable however put it side by side with the GH5's 1080p, it's a few generations behind in terms of quality. But if you don't do side-by-side comparisons, you'll be fine doing some occasional video work where there isn't so much movement and you need 2 stops of dynamic range.

I'm using this in a Canon R6 camera for shooting 4K video. The card holds up well to the demands placed on it by the camera and the higher speed certainly helps when saving images to the card.

I was a canon shooter for years, I thought canon was the bestest ever, and didn´t even tried another brands, but when I had to start recording at 4k, the 5dm4 was the only choice, but it was expensive and reviews said the 4k on that camera was bad...really bad, so I bought this as a quick option, and fell in love, the menus, the handling, everything was much much better, even to low light was much better than my canon 70D, so I discovered a great photo world outside canon....Now for the actual things about the camera: The Pros: - Outstading video with mic jack, and enough dials and buttons to use it just right. - The body is extremely light, perfect for gimbals. - The touch screen is maybe one of the best of the business the touch to change focus area, viewing photos, and all the stuff is just great. The CONS: - Image quality (on photos) is not better than a Google Pixel - Battery life is not great neither bad - Lacks sensor stabiliser in such a big body, and such a small sensor Conclusion: This camera made me open myself from the canon prison, is great for video, not so much for photos, but definitely a great camera that will always be useful as a B roll camera, or an emergency body that will save you

I'm using Canon SLR for a while and I was looking for a lighter option that could deliver 4k video, after a long research I've decided to start spending less and this incredible camera is what I found. Very good video quality and lightweight. For photos is not that good but get the job done. Love it as a secondary all around camera.
