Canon Power Sx210 Is

The body design of the new Canon PowerShot SX210 IS is most impressive, lightweight and compact. The combination of a 14.1 MP and 14X wide zoom is absolutely fantastic. This will most likely be the last camera that I will ever have to buy.

I wanted to like this camera and I do. The big surprise was that in side by side tests with my other Canon cameras it beat them all... it is sharper, the photos crisper, the color better than my G10, G9. It zooms not quite as far as my new SX20 but it FAR exceeds the SX20 in image quality. Plus, the SX210 is smaller and lighter. The SX210 will replace all of the above cameras when I travel or just have a camera with me. Would it replace an DSLR with a luxury lens that costs over $4000, probably not, but it's more convenient. I'm keeping my SD940 and SD780 because they are small and convenient, too. Their image quality is excellent even if not as good as the SX210. When shooting the test shots I with the SX210 I realized that detail I can't see with my eyes is there in the photos of a hibiscus I was using plus the range of color in the shots was more rich than my other cameras were capturing when viewed and enlarged on my computer screen. There are a ton of features on this camera, but you don't have to learn them right away to get great photos. I'm impressed! Canon got this camera right. It's a keeper.

Our Canon PowerShot SX210 IS will be safer in the Baja lagoons. Ideal length; good quality.

Just upgraded from my Canon SD1000 to the SX210, and am very happy with my choice.Going on vacation, I wanted to be able to shoot video and was going to buy an inexpensive HD camcorder, but when I saw the quality of the video from the SX210, I figured I could have both excellent quality stills and video in a tiny portable package for the same price as a camcorder that gives lousy stills.Compared the SX210 to the Sony HX5 and the Panasonic ZX5 and thought the image quality was far superior on the Canon. I'm a video producer and spend a lot of time looking at monitors and viewfinders, and my impression is that the Canon's images are more film-like with wider contrast and good color saturation. The Panasonic and Sony cameras, while they give excellent, sharp images, look a little too electronic for me.The Panoramic feature on the Sony was excellent, and the GPS implementation on the Panasonic was well thought out, but I just like the Canon images better....Don't forget to get yourself a few extra batteries and SD cards - the Transcend 16GB is dirt cheap and Class 6.Didn't load the Canon software onto my PC - I can view videos & stills without it (in Win 7), so I don't need their Multi million megabytes of disk hogging features.

I recently purchased POWERSHOT SX210 DIGITAL CAMERA (PURPLE). I liked its 14x digital zooming and its picture quality and video quality. Everything is perfect. I haven't seen any bad parts till now.

Considering what I bought the SX210 for, it's a great little camera. I wanted something small and portable for bike riding, hiking, and showshoeing. I love the far reach that it has, and it still has great wide angle. I have top of the line camera equipment and didn't expect this camera to do as well, but the photos are better than I expected. I am very happy with the camera. Some have complained about the flash popping out, but I found that my natural hold on the camera keeps it in, and the booklet says you can open it any time manually. Not a problem for me.
