Canon Print Scanner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Canon is a multifunctional device and can be used as not only a printer but as a scanner and fax also. A starter toner cartridge was included that will print approximately 3000 sheets. It was easy to hook to our home network and setup on the computer via wireless. This one prints only black and white but that is mainly what we print anyhow. The output is sharp and can accommodate paper up to 8.5 x 14. A plus for this printer is it connects to my phone and I can print right from it.

Since I use my WF-2960 mostly as a scanner and rarely print color, this is a good choice for my needs.

I was very nervous prior to using since I had at one time another cheaper scanner which I was very dissatisfied with. Well I put in my slide and scanned it. I then decided to print it for a larger view. Well all my anxieties were calmed down when I had this fantastic looking print. The scans look terrific. It is a great unit.

The setup was very simple using the Epson Smart Panel app installed on my iPhone. It literally walks you through every step. It is very easy to setup. The initial setup is pretty quick overall. It does give you the option to align print heads and such. If you do this, it does take some time so be prepared. After setup was complete I started printing random photos from my phone that had different scenes to get an idea of the print quality. Let me tell you, on plain paper it is fast and great quality. I printed some 8x10 and 4x6 on glossy photo paper. It was quick, and the quality was outstanding. I highly recommend this for everyday home printing tasks and a great option if you print photos. I did use the scanner a few times, and well, its a scanner. Nothing super fancy about the scanner, but always a plus for the times you need to copy something. The big selling point. The ink. It is awesome having that much ink right away. The replacements are not to bad priced either. They are easy to see levels on the front of the print so no guess work. The bad. Yes, you know there would be some. The biggest gripe for me is paper capacity. I like a printer I can stack 200 plus sheets of paper in and have 4x6 photo paper ready to go also. I wish it had more paper capacity. My other gripe is the scanner. The scanning is fine, but once you have used a multi-doc fed scanner, you will not like the single sheet at a time scanners. So, the bad is nothing terrible, more of my personal preferences on printers. Overall this is an awesome printer that I think most anyone would be happy to have.
