Needed a back up battery for my canon r8

Perfect size for my Canon R8 with a 28mm lens. It’s well made and I love it.

I am not a professional but an enthusiast. I felt the new canon R8 would be too much like Canon RP so I purchased the R6 Mark II and I don't regret it for a second. The camera has a great feel and takes great pictures with my RF 24-105mm L lens, RF 16mm, RF 50mm, and RF 100-400mm lens. I can't afford the Canon professional lenses but what I have works very well with this camera. I still have a lot to learn with it but I expect to enjoy this camera for quite a while.

Canon battery for R8 is an excellent choice, compact in size but powerful.

Works great on my canon R8. The batteries on it don’t last too long, so be sure to get a couple extra.

This is a great little battery! Especially if you shoot on a camera with a small internal battery...for example the Canon R8. I not only can hook my camera up, but also a monitor and wireless lav pac if needed and run everything with no worries of changing batteries or recharging. The new outlet cover design is much improved over the older Smallrig VB99. Hopefully they will come out with a Pro model of the VB50 for an even smaller and lighter package.

Just got a Canon R8 and wanted to get a battery grip for it. I did not know Canon was not offering one for this camera, but I saw on YouTube that this works with the R8. I have not had any issues with getting the error yet, but if I do, the fix is to either swap the batteries or just disconnect then reconnect the grip. The downside is if you need to access the SD cardslot, then yes you have to remove the grip. While having buttons and a dial would be nice, again the camera wasn't designed for a grip so I understand the limitations. I just wanted longer battery life, which is why I recommend purchasing it for less than $100!

I have already used this to clean both my Canon R8 screen and lens. Love it. Super soft and lint free, absorbs oil from fingers really well.

This is the perfect accessory for my Canon R8. I also own an R6 Mark II which is just a little larger than the R8 and so I could feel the difference in size immediately. I have large hands and was a little uncomfortable to hold. TBH I seriously considered returning the R8 because of this but I didn't want to because the R8 itself is a powerhouse in its own right too. I did not want to go the route of a huge battery grip and so the extension grip looked like a good alternative despite my apprehension that the extension grip would be enough to make a difference. This extension grip is perfect. It makes the camera feel more like my R6 Mark II and has a solid feel to it and while at first glance the extension grip doesn't like it would make that much of a difference, it absolutely does. It is mostly an all-metal construction, so it also adds a little bit of extra heft to the R8 which makes a ton of difference to the overall feel of the camera. It fits perfectly to my R8, and the rubberized grip around the extension grip feels exactly the same as the grip on the R8. There was a lot of thought that went into this grip and access to battery and SD card via the battery door works flawlessly. I personally feel that the cost is appropriate for the extension grip. It's a well-built, solid piece of equipment that definitely adds a better experience to my Canon R8.
