[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Canon R40 document scanner is a lifesaver for scanning and digitizing documents. I have been putting off purging the paper documents in my large file cabinet - and I finally got the R40 and it has been a workhorse for me. I can scan a stack of papers into a pdf in a matter of minutes. The setup was super easy - go to the site and download the Windows or Mac software (I have a Mac), install it, plug in the scanner and start scanning. I couldn't be happier with this.

Ive got no complaints. This scanner was easy to set up on my mac ( O.S. 10.8) and easy use. Great quality. Film holders are a not great quality. I will be getting better scan holders. But very great little scanner. Moreover, it is not as slow as others claim it is.

I have owned an Epson scanner since 2000 and it still works! The only reason I bought a new one was because my Mac runs hardware on 64 bit vs the old 32 bit standard and I couldn't make my scanner run on the new operating system. The new scanner works like a charm and is every bit as fine as the old. Hopefully I will never have to buy another scanner again! ; )

This works perfectly with vuescan. I didn't have to download anything just connected it to my mac and vuescan recognized it right away. The scanner itself is definitely an upgrade from my epson perfection v600 when it comes to 35mm film. Very happy with this little machine.

I am very, very pleased with this scanner. I have worked with all-in-one (AIO) Cannon, HP, & Epson scanners in the past & found Epson’s scanner to be the fastest, but clunky with Mac software. The RR-600W is my first use of a dedicated scanner & it has left be with a huge positive impression. I have scanned hundreds of documents in the past & this has converted hours into minutes of work. First, unlike every AIO I have worked with, this can use 5GHz wifi, drastically increasing speed. Second…Duplex scanning is a huge timesaver…no sorting, & no speed loss. I can use the touchscreen to select the applicable computer to upload to & the computer can handle dumping massive amounts of documents of many standard sizes to include receipts up to legal format, & it does it automatically. Epson designed their own management software, but included Kofax Power PDF for both Windows & Mac as an option. I import using epson to a folder, & you can target that folder with any software you want. The scan speed is terrific…it feeds as fast as dropping a sheet on the floor. Overall, I am greatly impressed & this is definitely worth every penny if you do even a moderate amount of scanning. This is a review for the Epson RR-600W Wireless Duplex Touchscreen Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test & review.

Scanner has to be initially setup using a PC or Mac. But once it's setup, it can be run complete on the cloud with one button. I got this one for my elderly parents who prefer paper statements, to help manage their documents from afar.

This is the first film scanner I have owned and I am very pleased with the results I have gotten. I use a Mac with Sierra 10.12.3 and the SilverFast 8 software loaded without any problem. Scanning on the highest resolution takes time but the results are very good. I highly recommend using the instructional videos on lynda.com especially if you are new to film scanning. These videos explain everything you need to know in order for your scans to be first rate.
