I am not a professional but an enthusiast. I felt the new canon R8 would be too much like Canon RP so I purchased the R6 Mark II and I don't regret it for a second. The camera has a great feel and takes great pictures with my RF 24-105mm L lens, RF 16mm, RF 50mm, and RF 100-400mm lens. I can't afford the Canon professional lenses but what I have works very well with this camera. I still have a lot to learn with it but I expect to enjoy this camera for quite a while.

I am using it for my small professional camera. Small enough to carry it along. Using this strap is so much better than the one I used so far. On this one, you can slide the adjustment piece and it is nice and fits around your wrist. Even if you open your hand, the camera will never drop to the ground.

I have been looking for a Small and Compact camcorder that can produce professional high quality footage. I have found it, the Canon HF-10 camcorder gets my 5 Star Review because the HD lense and the Flash Memory storage. Canon Well Done!

I am coming from a canon SLR professional and own many L lenses. I picked this up with a M6 and the combo is very useful for small walkaround and selfie pictures. I don't have a chance to test color rendering side by side with other Canon primes or L zoom lens. But so far for basic photography, I can't complain. It will bring it with my travel!

Discontinued? i just bought this on 12/31/2011! I am a professional videographer. Bought this for my mother in law. I got 2 things to say and that makes this a WINNER! 1- My draw dropped when i saw the footage from this in low light. NO GRAIN!! How can this be better in low light than a 4 thousand dollar Sony HXR NX-5U camera? Video is clean, clean, CLEAN!!! I test drove this camera pushing it to the limit by using its full exposure control, custom white balance, manual focus, IRIS, etc. no zebra and no peaking. that would be ridiculously awesome if it did! Idiots from canon... Zoom is nice and slow, playback menus are beautiful! Audio is not bad at all. HDMI cable included? That is RARE!! Like EVERY small, non professional camcorder, the only thing i hate about these little cameras is that the view is so tight almost like a 70mm lens at its WIDEST... Why do manufacturers think that regular consumers don't need a wide lens? Absolutely yes I recommend this even for pros who need a small camera for vacation and still bring home professional clean footage.

With the recent price drop I decided to pick up one of these cameras. It is a great all around camera for general purpose use. Being their flagship, Canon throws in everything and the kitchen sink. There are many features to cover every type of professional photography from portrait to photojournalism to professional sports. Even as an amateur I benefit from features like the built in GPS and extremely fast operation. This camera just moves faster than the 5 series cameras that I have used. The huge battery and built in grip are amazing. Being a Canon camera, the ergonomics and user experience are top notch. Now the cons. It's not a travel camera. It's big and heavy and robust. It only has 20mp but for most uses 20mp is more than sufficient. I have a Canon 5DSR that I can use when I need the resolution. This camera and the 5DSR complement each other very well with each being the opposite of the other. The 5DSR is slower, smaller, lower ISO, but with higher resolution. The 1DX Mark II is bigger, faster, higher ISO, but lower resolution. Overall I am very happy that I was able to add this caliber of camera to my kit because of the discounted price. I would take this over a new mirrorless camera any day.

Ive been a professional photographer now for the last 21 years now. Ive done Weddings, Portraits, Product Photography and Real Estate for pay but love Landscape and Wildlife. I followed the progress of this camera and before pulling the trigger on a Sony again (had several of their A7 series), Fuji (had a few of their top dogs as well) or Canon (started with them) I couldnt resist trying out a S1 with the so called kit lens. That term is a bad joke referring to a lens that in my testing out found to be superior to ALL other 24-105s out there. The Viewfinder is an epiphone and will turn any OVF off of that technology. The build simply imparts one with the knowledge they are dealing with a precision device, not just another camera. The LCD is solid as can be not the typical weak wobbly affair of most other cameras. The shutter is like butter! The big unfortunate LIE out there on the internet due mainly to the fact users are NOT properly setting their camera up, is that the focus system has issues. I came from working with a A7III, Canon R and Nikon Z6 and frankly the S1s focus is not only more accurate but lightning FAST! Anyone having issues with this cameras focus need to read Panasonics extensive explanation of how to set up their focus system.  The ergonomics have literally set the bar for others that need to start following. Battery life once again if set up properly can yield at least 500+ shots at minimum. The 24-105 f4 is a lens that is essentially sharp edge to edge across its entire focal range and has NO discernable chromatic aberrations. All I can say is if youre on the fence or considering a professional tool you simply HAVE to work with one, and DO set it up properly. Youll be in love.
