Canon Xl1S Mini Digital Video Camera

I have been filming faithfully with this camera for 3 yearsnow and not only has it done amazingly well, it is the bestcamera for your buck. This camera is great for any level offilm making and/or event videography. The colors are crispand vivid, and the 20x zoom is a MUST HAVE!! I've shotevents with other canon cameras such as the XL1s, and theXL2, and as far as my eyes can see, the GL2 puts out themost colorful and well balanced image. To get the bestresults from this camera, you must use the manual mode.Though the auto focus/exposure is still great, the best lookyou will get is when you have full control of white balance,shutter speed, and aperture. This camera is perfect forschool video classes, multicamera event shooting, and anypromotional shooting that doesn't require HD or 24p or 24f.This is an incredible camera and widely used in eventvideography. Hope this has helped, and I hope you canexperience the greatness of this camera as I have.HDV and HD don't matter yet...wait until 2009 when they getit right, buy this camera now and save some money. Problems Encountered: The only issue is that the on camera audio is mediocre. Itis better than consumer camera's but it's not professionalquality. I'd recommend buying the MA300 microphone adapteror the Beachtech microphone adapter in order to plug in anexternal mic (which is what most people do anyways, no onebut amateurs uses on camera mics). Also, this camera ispretty decent-good in low-light, but amazing with light!! The video capability went out on my Canon DC50 because I dropped it AGAIN. The digital camera still works great and I love it becuase it has a great flash for indoor photos. I decided to order a refurbished Canon FS300 to use for videos. GREAT CAMERA, and is doing every thing I need at a great cost. I always choose B&H for my digital products. They are articulate and friendly on the phone, and their warranties are hassle free.

This SX20IS is my fifth digital camera. The technolgy just gets better and better. I had a Canon S2 IS (which I also bought at B&H and used as a traded in) I loved it but could not resist the 20X zoom. I am a amature photogapher and take lots of animals and birds, So far this camera has been great. The changes made have made it even easier to use. I even used the video to shoot my grandson's basketball game, with great audio and video results. LOVE this Canon.

I love this camera almost more than my digital SLR! Very high quality pics and video from this super small digital marvel! I replaced my Canon SD 1000 with this model and have been very pleased. Perfect for travel! Way to go Canon!

I take a lot of video of high school marching bands with my Canon HF20 HD video camera and from the stands the sound usually has a lot of fan noise especially when I use a wide angle lens to get more of the field in view. This microphone picked up all of the sounds of the band from well over 100 feet away and reduced unwanted sounds to a pretty acceptable level. I do this for fun and to build video shows for the kids to see. The combination of great sound with HD quality video makes for a great show. yep, a bit pricy but if better audio (on a Canon video camera with the mini advanced accessory shoe) is what you're looking for it's a great product and very easy to use. The only knock is that from what I can see you can only use the microphone with a mini advanced accessory shoe kind of limiting future uses - if I had any...

I use this for a 7 lcd screen for my Xl1s and lighting for the same camera. It works great! It charges in a reasonable amount of time. I like that it is hands free, just put it on and go!

I use the on my Canon EOS M mirrorless digital camera works good. all is well.

So far, this has been a great lens. I'm using it with my Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4K digital film camera (shooting mostly video) and the results are really good. Very happy. Nice look without the super high pricing that you see with other lens companies. Not sure how they do it - but the images are looking great!

I purchased this so I can transfer photos from my digital camera to my Mac Mini. It works perfectly and performance is great.
