The Comtek M-216 Option 7 Transmitter is a solid piece of kit. Besides being used as an IFB transmitter, I use it with a PR-216 Option 7 Receiver attached to a small monitor speaker to send audio signal video village, or to send a mono scratch-track signal to the camera(s). I also attach the M-216 P7 to a TC slate and send TC signal to camera(s) and my recorder. An inexpensive IFB solution for the professional indeed.

I use this kit primarily for educational videos where one or two people are talking in a controlled environment. I find it very intuitive to use, and have yet to have any signal issues. The encrypted digital signal prevents cross-talk like you might get with the G3. This particular kit does not come with backup batteries, although the case does come with slots for 2 receiver backup batteries, and slots for 2 transmitter backup batteries. There is no extra slot for the stick microphone backup battery, but it can fit diagonally in the square compartment. I highly recommend getting backup batteries if you plan to shoot two people for over 3 hours since the small receiver batteries only last about 4 hours, although if you have a digital recorder with phantom power on the XLR input where the receiver is plugged in, the receiver will automatically turn off if you turn off the recorder. This helps conserve battery. The transmitter packs are small relative to the Rode system which is partly what sold me on this system, and this kit option was hard to beat.

I'm really liking this system. So far, I've pushed the distance out to a football field, with no signal loss, also used it out on the water , filming boat to boat, and inside a manufacturing facility. It didn't drop signal or get sketchy at all. The fact that the receivers have no antennae is a big plus. I put one RX on a small monitor for director handset and I don't have to worry about the antennae get broken off by someone less careful than I. Another great feature, that I use a lot, is loop out sdi on the transmitter and 2 sdi out on the receiver. There are also multiple mounting points on the bottom and face of the receiver, for various mounting configurations. The clover antennae on the transmitter look cool too, and are less likely to get broken.

I purchased this as a dedicated cable for the Hollyland transmitter to get the signal from one of my camcorders to the transmitter. Perfect length and perfect signal. Will but some more!

I use this cable to send signal from mixer to transmitter for wireless monitoring. Works great. Build quality is excellent.

I haven't had it very long but, it seems to get the job done and the receiver has a good radius for picking up the transmitter signal
