Carrying Camera While Backpacking

While this not a bag for carrying lots of equipment it fits my camera, a couple of lenses, a couple of filter packs, batteries with re-charger, a flash, and small accessories quite well. The bag is well made and provides very good protection to my equipment. This is great for a day of hiking in the mountains or strolling through the botanical garden. I like it.

I paired this tripod with a light-weight Joby ball head that I had around and took it backpacking. While light-weight enough to lug over some pretty steep mountain passes, the setup held an EOS 60D body + 70-300 mm f/5.6 lens at full extension with no problem. The individually adjustable legs make it easy to obtain a stable configuration on an uneven surface such as a rock.

If you want a tripod for backpacking or carrying a ways, this is perfect. Extremely sturdy considering its weight, I have used it in decent wind and feel comfortable with it. Definitely go with a heavier tripod if weight isn't a concern though, as its lightweight will probably cause some problems in heavy winds

This bag is well-constructed and padded for carrying cameras & plenty of lenses. While I prefer a backpack when I'm out in the field with my gear, rather than a shoulder bag which is bulkier, this one is great for storing lenses at home or carrying extra camera equipment while traveling. The various pockets for the lenses keeps them separated. There is also room in the front and top sections for media cards and other accessories.

While off brand knock off batteries can be purchased at much lower prices, I only buy batteries carrying the brand name. Far far longer lasting charge and battery life are important to me. I learned this lesson with both Sony and Canon video cameras.

This is a great pouch for carrying extra batteries. While I do wish they individually would attach to a strap using Velcro, the two snapped together seem to work fine too.

While somewhat heavy, it nonetheless is a great case for carrying my equipment: two bodies w/ battery grips, three zooms, three primary lenses and a flash, plus some Magmod modifiers, batteries, cards, etc. Too, it will also hold a 15.4" MacBook Pro.

I used it on a recent vacation, and it made carrying my camera for 3-4 hours very comfortable.
