I purchased this to use with a Sennheiser ME 67, when I am recording natural sounds outdoors. It works as advertised, reducing noise from light breezes to practically imperceptible levels. I often record in situations in which a simple foam windshield is not enough, but this thing makes it possible for me to get outdoors more and to be more productive. I was recording in Yellowstone Park last May and found that I just did not have to think about wind for most of the time I was there. I am finding that the Softie interferes so little with the sound that I just leave it on the mic all the time now, whether I am indoors or out.

I'm pretty much entry-level when it comes to filming. I knew I needed a shotgun microphone for recording interview-esque films for a small company I work for. It works great, but beware if you're working in an office where you have all sorts of electronic equipment. The microphone will pick up the slightest sounds, so try to get it as quiet as humanly possible. Other than that, I really love this microphone.

I purchased this product to record a short interview or simple recording operations. Compared with similar devices in the price, I think we have a very good mic preamp. Add an option for remote control or radio transmission for gain adjustment, if I want more. But I am very satisfied with this product.
