Cat Camera For Home

Maybe a little overpriced but i decided to future proof my home office with CAT 7 cable

I use this to extend my LAN inside my home to a spot that is virtually impossible to run Cat 5/6 cable. Distance is 70 ft and it's a clear shot. Works great. This probably would not have worked if there had been walls blocking the beam. The 60 GB GigaBeam replaced a mesh WIFI access arrangement resulting in more stable WIFI connections. It also feeds a network switch to other devices in that end of the house.

- I do not need to install a new CAT-5 cable across my home (would be expensive on labor, time and costs), - I used an existing coax-cable to transfer data between computers in first and second floor and the router with NAS in the basement , - it works reliably and the netto data transfer rate is Gbit as promised (930 mbit/s as measured with iperf between PCs and SynologyNAS)

It's a dead cat. It works.

Had to run a cat 6 cable under the building as the old cable had seen the end of its life. The Pro AV/IT Cat 6 Heavy-Duty Snagless Patch Cable filled the bill nicely and it was a very easy run installing it under the building which is a not so nice environment. It was easy to run with no kinks in the cable. I feel confident that this new cable will far outlast the last one.

I had one for many years, not buying a new one, I really appreciate the new and better dead cat that comes with it!
