Cat6 Ethernet Cable Crimping

I like the white cat6 cable.

This is the cheapest SFP+ switch (but reliable) I could find for my homelab. Many others are more expensive. After reading reviews on the Mikrotik SFP+ options I decided to stay with Unifi since I already had many Ubiquiti Ethernet switches and a controller in place. I am also connecting this to a Unifi 24-port via 1-Gb SFP as a link and connecting to my core switch via 10GbE over CAT6. Core switch is an FS.COM unit with a 10GbE Ethernet transceiver. No issues negotiating to 10GbE. The CAT6 cable run is probably under 50 feet. I am also using old Finisar transceivers without issue, but have not tried DAC cables yet. However, if you do not have a Unifi Controller in place perhaps wait for the new QNAP managed combo switches coming out. It will be a lot simpler. Or you can get the more expensive EdgeSwitch ES-16-XG.

A Ethernet cable that works! And it was low cost.

I cut my patch cable teeth on a much more complicated connector with two tiny parts and a body. And with aging eyes and not so nimble fingers I managed to make up a bunch of cables. The Eclipse connectors are like moving from dark to light. Im saving my money for a Eclipse crimping tool that trims the excess wire. Other than a slight hangnail of conductors these connectors are great. A new crimping tool will eliminate the hangnail. If you are considering this connector, buy the tool along with it.

I've been using the SE215 headphones for about a year and the connection at the left earphone went dead from crimping it to tightly. This replacement cable was a lifesaver. It works exactly as the cable that came with the SE215s.

I use this cable at direct connection to my cable modem...Cat6 cables always work better than Cat5e..And this one has the maximum performance i need...
