Cat6 Ethernet Cable Office Building Installation

I like the white cat6 cable.

This cable is just what I needed. I was able to free up 2 ethernet ports between my two Ubiquiti switches (one each) and use the SFP ports instead. Installation could not have been more simple - just take out the rubber stopper on the SFP ports and plug in each end of this cable into the down port and up port - DONE. The switches recognized each other is seconds with no configuration on my part.

The assembly was easy, and the driver installation was easy, and the ethernet cable connection was easy, and paper roll loading was easy, and then the plotting worked well. Only glitch was the driver software creating two printers, and no documentation on which was which (one was ethernet and one was USB).

Easy installation, works flawlessly. Moved to a location that is no longer convenient for having an ethernet cable so I finally had to buy an adapter. Wish I did this sooner, there's zero lag or any discernible difference to me compared to before.

This is the cheapest SFP+ switch (but reliable) I could find for my homelab. Many others are more expensive. After reading reviews on the Mikrotik SFP+ options I decided to stay with Unifi since I already had many Ubiquiti Ethernet switches and a controller in place. I am also connecting this to a Unifi 24-port via 1-Gb SFP as a link and connecting to my core switch via 10GbE over CAT6. Core switch is an FS.COM unit with a 10GbE Ethernet transceiver. No issues negotiating to 10GbE. The CAT6 cable run is probably under 50 feet. I am also using old Finisar transceivers without issue, but have not tried DAC cables yet. However, if you do not have a Unifi Controller in place perhaps wait for the new QNAP managed combo switches coming out. It will be a lot simpler. Or you can get the more expensive EdgeSwitch ES-16-XG.

Not much to say about an ethernet cable, except that it works.

We have a large brick building and were worried about being able to keep a signal, so we cat6 wired the 2 satellites. The resulting wifi mesh has been seamless.
