This is the only, ONLY computer that would satisfy my daughter as she prepares to head off to University. She was using my wife's hand-me-down 2012 MacBook Pro that is having screen challenges (blinking). She had researched all the options, knew the capabilities of this new MacBook and wanted the Touch Bar to increase her ease of use. This Macbook did not disappoint, although I did have to buy her a rose gold case since the Pro doesn't come naturally in that color. Go figure. The price and speed of delivery by B&H was spot on, as usual. 5 |

I do engineering work which requires some pretty graphically-intensive design software After rocking the same computer for 10+ years, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and build a new PC. While 4090s are fairly expensive, I can say that they are very much worth the cost if you frequently do any type of work/gaming that takes advantage of the 4090s impressive technical specs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you spend this much on a computer, you ought to like it. This, however, is an engineering marvel and a huge advance from my first ThinkPad of 20+ years ago: featherlight, quick & quiet. I love the human presence/facial recognition login in. Excellent quality AV support for online meetings. My only gripe is the weight and size of the power supply. At 0.6 lbs., it's about 40% the weight of the laptop. Yes, it's much reduced from days of old, but way clunkier than that for the IdeaPad it replaced. 5 |
