I recently upgraded my internet service to CenturyLink Fiber (100/50). With Smart QOS enabled on my ER Lite model, it would top out at about half of the possible download speeds (upload seemed fine). I decided to upgrade to the ER-4 to improve performance and it is definitely more powerful. No lag with Smart QOS enabled. Upgrading was easy. I used the same config file so I was up and running in no time. Also love that I can use EdgeOS for VLAN tagging so I can avoid using a CL device between the ONT and this router. Awesome. 5 |

I have Xfinity and one day I decide to do a speed test, I’m paying for gigabit internet and was barely getting 70 mbps with their provided router. I decided to upgrade and this thing WORKS it was an easy install, a lot smaller than the previous one and handles my internet speed easily no bottlenecks or anything. I was hesitant to try VOIP phone service without having very high speed internet connection. I have a 5 MBS / 1 MBS connection and I have had no issues. In my area the monthly fees for 911, taxes, etc. end up being just under $5 per month. A nice savings over all other options! 5 |
