Centurylink Modem Internet Light Flashing Red And Green

Bright white light is very bright. Red/red-flashing light is cool -- not sure if I'll ever use it. Good fit and balance (with batteries in back). Lightweight and comfortable. Looks suitably geeky. Very happy with my purchase. 5 |

This is a very nice headlamp, without two levels of white light, a red light and a flashing red light. Having the battery pack on the back makes it much easier to balance and the straps are adjustable over a wide range. 5 |

My APC UPS sounded off every few hours with beeps and a flashing red light to let me know it was time to replace the battery. I ordered online and the battery arrived sooner than expected. I installed it and it's been working fine since. The part I especially like, I didn't have to shut everything off to install. 5 |

I recently upgraded my internet service to CenturyLink Fiber (100/50). With Smart QOS enabled on my ER Lite model, it would top out at about half of the possible download speeds (upload seemed fine). I decided to upgrade to the ER-4 to improve performance and it is definitely more powerful. No lag with Smart QOS enabled. Upgrading was easy. I used the same config file so I was up and running in no time. Also love that I can use EdgeOS for VLAN tagging so I can avoid using a CL device between the ONT and this router. Awesome. 5 |

We recently switched to Xfinity from CenturyLink and DirecTV and our AV guy recommended this modem. Working flawlessly in tandem with our new router, couldn’t be more pleased. Great looking as well. 5 |

I have waited a long time to write this review, so here goes :) My quest to improve my home network started when our pitiful 1.5 Mbps DSL connection was upgraded to 40 Mbps fiber. As part of the install, we purchased a CenturyLink C2100T modem which I have to say is pretty dang good considering that is equiptment provided by the telco. In fact, the CenturyLink modem seems to have a stronger 5G radio that the Ubiquiti! The problem is that it is very unattractive and to really get a good signal, you need to have several access points and/or mount your access point(s) high and free from obstruction. You heard me, do not purchase this unless you plan to mount it...preferably on the ceiling! This does take work, but it is worth it. I started out by plugging the Ubiquiti in from the basement, where the CenturyLink modem was. On the ground floor of the house I did get some signal, but was noticably improved when I ran cable up through the basement ceiling and set it on my dresser. Mounting it in the ceiling did take work as I had to pull the cable through my closet and drill a hole in my 90 year old plaster ceiling. I probably went a little overboard and mounted an electical box in the attic as well so I could seal up the hole to prevent a draft. Now moving the unit from on top of the dresser to the ceiling again improve receiption. Each move, from the basement, to on top of the dresser, to ceiling mounted basically got me an extra bar :) Now from anywhere in the house, I can get pretty much full speed internet over WiFi which is pretty impressive considering that I have plaster walls. Although I do have to say that ping times seem better when connected to the 5G radio and there are places in the house where the 5G radio is not super strong. At some point I may install a second unit to improve this, but for now I am super happy. No more wires :) Awesome internet connection. All of my devices are happy. You should get one (or two) Ubiquiti products today! 5 |
