I recently upgraded my internet service to CenturyLink Fiber (100/50). With Smart QOS enabled on my ER Lite model, it would top out at about half of the possible download speeds (upload seemed fine). I decided to upgrade to the ER-4 to improve performance and it is definitely more powerful. No lag with Smart QOS enabled. Upgrading was easy. I used the same config file so I was up and running in no time. Also love that I can use EdgeOS for VLAN tagging so I can avoid using a CL device between the ONT and this router. Awesome. 5 |

Wifi has long range of effectiveness. Internet connection is stable. My internet speed is 200 mbs and this modem router is doing a great job transferring the signal! 5 |

I have Xfinity and one day I decide to do a speed test, I’m paying for gigabit internet and was barely getting 70 mbps with their provided router. I decided to upgrade and this thing WORKS it was an easy install, a lot smaller than the previous one and handles my internet speed easily no bottlenecks or anything. My ISP is CenturyLink Fiber, and connecting to their network requires support for PPPoE and VLAN tagging. Most routers support PPPoE, but VLAN tagging seems to be rare for budget routers. This router supports both. 5 |
