Changing Brightness On Dell Monitor

I *thought* this was an HDR monitor because the Dell website listed it as Ultra High Definition in the list of monitors when I filtered for that feature...however it is not. Initially I was really upset and felt that I wasted my money. B&H really tried hard to help any way they could, but their site clearly says that it's not an HDR monitor in the detail specs tab, but I didn't look there because Dell already said it was. BUT, after using the monitor for a few weeks now, I really, REALLY love this monitor! It's soooooo big, and beautiful with awesome color depth. If you download the Dell monitor software, you can even schedule the brightness and contrast to change according to the time of day (looks like there is 2 settings: day and night...but you might be able to do more detailed scheduling). It even allows for transitions between the two settings so they gradually take effect over, say, an hour (or whatever you want.) I'm usually working with lower ambient lighting in the evening hours, so this is a fun feature to play with. I do wish it had an ambient light sensor to change the brightness automatically, but that's okay. You can even have it automatically dim the screen when your screensaver is going, to save on energy. There's also some great screen sectioning capabilities to split your screen up into multiple zones that you can dock your windows into. Since the monitor is so big, I find it rare for me to ever want to have a window full screen, so this is a great feature as well. Overall, I'm super happy with the quality of this monitor!!! Yes, I'm disappointed that I still cannot edit my photos in HDR, but I don't regret this purchase because it's definitely better than what I had before!

I bought this as an upgrade from an older Dell U2715H purchased in 2015. My older UltraSharp still worked well, but the lack of USB-C docking and power was inconvenient, and I needed to use all three USB-C ports on my laptop when working at my desk. With the U2723QE, just one USB-C plug handles them monitor, power, external hard drive, and a slew of accessories connected to the monitor. The upgrade from sRGB to Display P3 is nice, too... but may not be hugely noticeable, depending on what you're using the monitor for. Finally, the U2723QE works perfectly with the MonitorControl app (macOS only) when you want to adjust the brightness of the monitor using your Mac keyboard's brightness buttons.

Superb color, solid & uniform brightness, easy interface, and the arm is amazing. Highest height is perfect for ergonomic viewing. It also swings right over my electric piano keyboard, which I can now place directly on my desk. I chose this over the Dell U2723QE, because the prices and features were comparable, but the BenQ comes with an arm built in, which amounts to a $100-$200 savings over purchasing an arm separately. The only minor compromise was that the Dell comes with an Ethernet jack, which was unnecessary for me. A note on the arm: The display slants a little bit off-level depending on the arm's extension. However, the display can only pivot clockwise, so if the arm is pushed all the way back like this (hinge open to the right, when seen from the front/above), you can't correct for the tilt, because the display can't pivot counterclockwise. This can be easily corrected by using the inverse arm configuration ( - hinge open to the left), then correcting for the slant by pivoting the display slightly clockwise. Definitely not a reason not to purchase; just a little mechanical quirk with an easy workaround. A note on brightness: I'd say the BenQ's full brightness reaches 90% of the full brightness of my 2019 MBP 16, but I never need it that bright. I generally use the BenQ at 30% brightness, which is equivalent to 60% brightness on my Mac.

This simply puts gets the job done. I shoot events in NYC with low light and the locations brightness' are ever changing. With a f1.8 low light zoom and this flash I'm a happy camper. Easy to use manually and the price is right.

While this is not the quality of my favorite LED panel that comes in the bright yellow flight case, for the money, these are great. I needed DMX functionality on a budget, and this light serves it up. One note on the DMX functions. You can control brightness, color temp, and hue but this is not documented. Once you set the DMX channel for the fixture as outlined in the docs (call it channel x), that channel controls brightness. DMX channel x+1 controls color temp, and DMX channel x+2 controls hue. Changing the hue value puts the light into RGB mode. Changing the color temp value puts the light into white mode. B&H connected me with the manufacturer to figure out the DMX stuff, and they were prompt with their reply.

I use this for YouTube videos and photography. The usability is great and changing colors and brightness is very easy. I have had this for a couple months now and it is working great. Very reliable so far.
