Charging A Lithium Battery From Shore Power

So far I love this light. There are a few things I would change, like the battery cable is a little wanky, but for a bi-color LED rim light, it's very nice. I started lighting in 1983, so my perspective may be a little old school. I'll go through a couple things for the review: Noise - even with the fan on it's incredibly quiet. I can't see the fan being a noise issue. If it goes out, you can only get 50% power, and I have no idea where to get service in the USA if that happens. Battery Power - Fantastic. We did shut it off between setups, but battery makes it so easy to use, especially places where there are customers or civilians. No cords to worry about. Fits in a Milk Crate - Hey, it fits in a standard milk crate! Long cord - the shore power cord is long enough for professional use. I've recently purchased a Gemini, and the short cord is driving me nuts. This light has a long shore power cord. Color Rendition - On the blue side it's right on, and on the warm side it's a little off, but not enough to make a difference. I really wish it went to 2700 for sunset patterns. Pattern rendition - Fantastic. The fresnel gives a fantastic hard pattern at full flood, which is much of the reason to use a fresnel. Downsides: I can see the barndoors aren't going to hold up that well in a rental environment, the design is poor in that aspect, however taken care of for personal use they should be fine. I wish it had an add/subtract green. Final review: I'm probably going to buy another one. Maybe two. Disclaimer: I don't work for or know anything about the company, just love the light.

It works wonderfully charging the lithium battery included for my A6500.  Does exactly what it is supposed to do.  What else can you say.

if you use a dr-100 for field recording, you know that the lithium battery (bpl-2) does not last too long if phantom power is needed. i have 2 batteries and i run out of power every time. when this external battery came out, i bought it very fast to try it. for my surprise it works amazingly good. highly recommended. i use 6 duracell 2450 mah on it and it lasts for many, many hours using the phantom power on my dr-100. cheers

Bought the Photogenic ION Lithium-ion inverter to power my two Photogenic 1000-watt second strobes as a pair. Dispite�the fact I had the modeling lights turned off, the load was too much for the inverter. However, with one strobe, it's just what I need. Not only do I power a strobe, I also use it to power anything that requires low wattage AC power, like wireless mic receivers or transmitters or battery operated audio recorders or small camcorders and small video monitors. The kit is especially useful since it includes a case, spare battery and charger. What a pleasure not to have to run AC extension cords! Great product. Highly recommend it.
