Just upgraded my old dvd writer into a blu-ray writer since these are a lot more affordable now. Definitely a easy swap into my desktop PC and it saves on power since it'll be in use if you pop in a disc to read/play/copy. CD copying speeds are a lot faster than my old lite-on dvd writer so I'm pretty happy on my purchase! 5 |

I had and older Buffalo CD, DVD, and BD-R Reader/Writer that was rated at 1/4 the speed of the OWC Mercury Pro External USB 3.0. Additionally the OWC Mercury cost over a $100 less. I also am impressed with the aluminum housing that encases this device. 5 |

The DVD reader/writer works very well. And it is fast. As someone I believe mentioned in a review, there is an issue the first time the device is connected, not recognized by Windows. All that needs to be done is to disconnect it from the computer, wait a few seconds and them reconnect. Windows then finds it. After that first time this is not an issue. I definitely recommend this unit without reservation.. 5 |
