I own a recording studio. These are MY go to headphones. The clients always want to use MY headphones rather than the stock (cheap) ones I have available because they say they're more comfortable AND sound better. I have the cheap ones 'cause clients always drop/break/step on them..... I should charge more and GIVE them a pair of HD280's when the session is done!

I worked in radio for a few years but had never gotten around to buying a nice set of headphones at home (was using a cheap Sony pair from college that were super comfortable). This ATH model is obviously beautiful, but also sounds magnificent. I can wear them for hours without fatigue or pain, unlike some others I've used. You're not likely to find a better value for the money! Outstanding.

bought this for a small home project studio. Very cheap for 2 condenser mics. A/B these mics against shure sm27 condenser. Both me and my kid liked the 2020 better, felt it was clearer and more realistic sounding on both voice and acoustic guitar. The 2021 sounded thinner with less bottom end. We'll use them on drums, guitar cabinets.

I've used K & M stands professionally for decades, but for some reason I always went on the cheap for my home studio. I finally got sick of drooping, tippy, cheap-o no-name stands, and got what I've known all along are among the best stands of their type.

I purchased a set of these for my home studio after using them in a variety of settings in the studio where I work. As others have mentioned, the bass response can be a bit deceiving. But I wouldn't recommend mixing with headphones alone anyhow. For composing/writing in the middle of the night or tracking live instruments, these headphones are perfect. (And much cheaper here, I might add).

I use this as a my home studio headphones. I'm a video producer and a bit of an audiophile so i take sound seriously. This are wonderful in terms of sound stage and clarity and are very different from my Audio-Technica ATH-M50x which i use now only as field headphones. The AKG are a lot lighter in terms of weight, you don't feel them on your head at all and can spend hours with them. They are very comfortable with large diameter of the ear cups. They are very much not portable, they don't fold and they are not built to withstand abuse on the field. for Home or studio use they are great and worth every penny. This are semi-open headphones which is great for me to use at home or at the office since it doesn't shut you out completely from the environment like the M50 does. I use it with Audioengine D1 amplifier and it works great.
