I buy it with each new laptop to be safe. The new machines are expensive but the Applecare price is the same making it a better value.

Don't do much gaming, but I wanted the core & thread capacity for desktop virtual machines so that I can have 2-3 VM's with 4 processors assigned running quickly, while using the other cores for development and this has operated very nicely and smoothly for my needs!

This is a fantastic, easy way to add storage to the new Apple laptop machines which are, unfortunately, limited on storage. I even set mine up to automatically mount the volume on startup. Super easy. This is a great way to add capacity for music, movies, pictures, etc. Stop thinking about it. Just buy it.

I really like this product and the 4 port version. I use one for my game and other machines, and the 2 port is my work and school laptop. They work flawlessly.

This little enclosure worked perfectly on the first try with both Macs and Windows machines. It is compact and doesn’t get in the way even with a laptop. It’s a very useful tool to have, particularly if you have laptops at your facility, since it allows you to pull the drives out of the machines, whether because of problems or just to swap the drives out.
