Like many people, I figured that A UV filter is a UV filter, and purchased whatever looked okay and cheap. I had $ lenses mounted on $ cameras, with a $ filter mounted on the front. Then I started noticing how cheap filters DO affect your photos. A dark bar that appeared intermittently was due to a cheap polarizing lens. Uneven sky coloration was due to a UV filter that had developed some starnge hue over half the face; it was like it was changing into a gradiated ND filter! No more. I use B+W exclusively, and never have a care or worry. They are quality filters that never let you down or ruin the shot.

Very sturdy and easy to use. Like the black finish too! Use this with stands that I have and are more sturdy than the cheap, ones you get in the less expensive background support kits. Eventually I may use it with C stands or even wall mounts. Very nice piece.

Works well with cheap('er than Gitzo) Chinese bowl, on Gitzo(got it cheap) Series 5 tripod. Like the length of handle; easy to tighten/loosen. Metal wearing parts, plastic elsewhere for lightness. Overall 'Manfrotto level' (=great) quality.

Strong, sturdy construction. Like the fact the safety pin is connected via wire not cheap chain link.

I was essentially looking for a cheap lens that would look kind of dated on purpose. Like a 90s film vacation photo. There’s a beautiful but subtle vinietting in the corners which makes every photo look a bit nostalgic. This is my favorite lens I own because despite its low price it’s also very reliable and creates beautiful images. It’s low profile so it keeps my a6600 from becoming too bulky and makes for a great every day lens.

Like all things Canon, this is a great piece of kit. Not cheap, but well made and a pleasure to own. I bought it for a run and gun shoot documenting a day in the life of a medical student and her professor. The pack reduced recycle times on my Canon Speedlite and made me feel like I was not going to run out of battery power. If you need this for a job, definitely buy it. If you don't need it for an assignment, I would wait.
