It is a cheap, wired remote for Canon. It does what it says it does, no more, no less.

I always wondered if something like this remote existed then i randomly landed on it here at B&H... not only was it Super CHEAP, but it was also VERY EASY TO SETUP AND USE...just adjusting your camera setting and just point the remote to the camera and you got the photo you usually want to take but theres no one to help you... The DESIGN is Descent and its SUPER SMALL and LIGHTWEIGHT...! buy it, its an essential to your photography...!

This is a fantastic remote, I use it with my 60D. It's cheap for a remote, and it does its job. You can do immediate shutter or 2-second delay. It only has one button, but that's because the switch to turn it from immediate to 2-sec delay is in the back :D Some people don't like it because you can't shoot from behind the camera. Why? Because the camera works with the sensor, which is in the front. So you pretty much need to be in front of the camera. HOWEVER, I saw a tutorial on Youtube, of a guy who put a hairband on his lens, and stuck a mirror in there. That way if you're behind the camera you can bounce the ray back on the sensor with a mirror, or any kind of reflective device. And that way you can use it from behind the camera also, and you won't have to pay as much for such an expensive remote :D

I needed a cheap wired remote for long exposure infrared photography. I knew I will be right by the camera and the cable length was plenty to move around the tripod without worrying about not reaching the remote. Most importantly I needed something affordable and the RS-C2II was the perfect solution.

I used to set the timer on my camera for self portraits because I was too cheap to buy a remote, but then I did. This little $20 guy has saved me so much time and effort not having to walk to the camera after every shot. Glad I got it.
