Cheap Underwater Photo Camera

I actually borrowed this DiCAPac from a friend, I've always wanted to try underwater photography but never had the means to. This is a cheap alternative to the more expensive underwater housings - it kept my camera dry but it is slightly difficult to use a short lens with underwater (I prefer prime lenses). Best to get your settings right before placing the camera in the bag, otherwise your gonna have a bad time. 5 |

I took shots at dark. The camera saw what I could not. It is going to be quite useful in my underwater adventures. 5 |

I printed out an underwater photo and there was detail visible that I did not see on the screen. Colors are wildly vibrant and it's well worth the price. 5 |

This case is perfect for my needs,it was bought with two uses in view: As a protection case for my underwater photo gear (I use a mirrorless system); As a carry on case for short trips. It stores my basic gear for underwater photo: One Housing for mirrorless system; Two strobes; Housing double handle tray Four 20cm arms; Six simple clamps; Two sea&sea strobe adapters; If I need there is still room for wet diopters, two extra lenses, or one mini dome port (for the 8mm panasonic fish eye). As a cary on case it is perfect you can fit enough clothes for more than one or two weeks if you are not going to a polar region. 5 |

I wanted this lens for macro underwater photos to use with a D90 in an Ikelite housing. The stock Nikon lens was too long (85 mm which translated to 130 mm or so). This meant that photos are taken at a further distance that necessary. With loss of light through water the further the distance the more difficult the lighting. On the other hand, being too close makes subjects skittish which means that a 90 mm to 100 mm length (35 mm equivalent) is a very good balance. The 60 mm Dx lens fits the bill at 90 mm. I didn't get a chance to use the f2 underwater on a recent trip but I was incredibly impressed with the sharpness of this lens and the ability to saturate colors in conjunction with the D90. I took a photo of a fire worm at about a 1:4 magnification. When I looked at the photo at full size the photo was stunning. Easily visible in the body of the fire worm is the circulatory system and the blood vessels all the way to the tail of the animal. This is a level of detail that is not found in very many photos of a fire worm. To find it at a 1:4 magnification is stunning. I think the F2 will be fantastic above water and look forward to trying it out. 5 |
