Cheap Vs Expensive Ethernet Cable

Not much to say about an ethernet cable, except that it works.

This is by far the best non-Ethernet home networking solution on the market delivering near 1G Ethernet speeds.� There were some teething issues for me that I had to resolve, but since then my three adapters have been rock solid.� So much so I just bought 2 more. A few tech notes from the issues I had to resolve.� High frequency bandwidth is everything for these adapters.� Make sure you have RG6 wires, this should not be an issue if using cable wiring preinstalled in the last 30-40 years or more recently by the cable company.� In my case the in wall wiring was OK with RG6 cable.� However a previous owner had used cheap R59 jumpers (with cheap twist on terminations) between a rat's nest of cheap Radio Shack splitters that couldn't pass more than 1 GHz.� I bought a higher quality 6-way splitter rated up to 2 GHz.� I also found that having a filter designed to contain the MOCA signals within the house was an absolute necessity.� This filter is installed at the input to the splitter for me.� I think the filter either addressed a high frequency impedance issue or controlled signal reflections that were causing issues.�� As an aside to anyone who cares, these adapters do pass VLANs and probably any other Ethernet L2 items like jumbo frames and the like.� I believe all MOCA adapters do is to encapsulate Ethernet frames and seamlessly pass it over the MOCA network.

Bought this as a cheap Flight Sim controller Vs $300 yoke and rudder controls. Works great, got it on sale. Windows Configured automatically with no issues. Well built! Highly recommended !

We use these for our timeclocks that are not wifi but have an ethernet cable connection. Works well.

I went for this cheap version instead of the expensive Canon e-ttl cable since I was planning to use it for a DIY project. Before slaughtering the cable I tested it and it worked fine, replicating all the function that the flash unit(Speedlite 430EX)performs when mounted directly on the hot shoe plus the advantage of having the lightning off-camera, for a more natural looking effect on portraits. With a little hack I made the original cable extendable to the desired length using a normal network cable. Now I can have my flash unit off camera (up to 30ft away!) maintaining e-ttl capabilities without investing in an expensive e-ttl wireless trigger. Definitely worth the investment! Still too early to assess the durability (and however, after my little modification, I can't blame the original cable for possible failures)
