I must admit, the first time I unboxed the instrument, I was amazed at the build quality. It has some heft, the keys are properly and ergonomically placed and you know Akai really took their time to perfect this wind controller. But as a long time saxophone player, the first time I actually played some scales, I was quite disappointed - it didn't feel like a saxophone. I was beginning to regret my purchase and thought about exchanging it for the WX5. So I gave it a few more days. Days turned to weeks, and I am beginning to appreciate this instrument. Keep practicing those scales, breathing with the mouthpiece and you realize how this is such an amazing wind controller. I made a mistake thinking that this is a replacement for a saxophone in an apartment situation. In reality, you should think about how this instrument can be an extension to your musical endeavors. The possibilities you can do with the sounds and playability are endless. There are a few usable synths prebuilt, but I suggest using the Akai EWI 5000 Editor to really play and edit your sounds then save it to the user bank. Also there are synths out there that can be used if you plug the EWI as just a midi wind controller; unfortunately you can't upload other synth sounds into the controller. Definitely give it some time to get used to the instrument especially moving from one octave to another. Keep practicing and you'll appreciate that there's hardly any moving parts here. I was opposed at it first since horns have that tactile and key feedback. But with the touch sensitivity, it really felt I was playing an instrument from the future. Again, you just have to get used to it - think about when mobile phones shift from physical keyboards to the modern phones we have today. And here I am today still keeping my purchase and writing a review. I thank Akai for making a top-notch wind controller and continuing the support for the modern electronic wind musician. 5 |

I live in New England and it is possible that we will have rolling black outs this winter which is why we purchased the Delta 2. A wind storm this week knocked over a tree and we were without power for several hours. I was able to hook up lights, my computer, and monitor, my warming throw blanket over my lap and use my phones personal hotspot. This enabled me to continue working. My husband also hooked up our Kerug so we could enjoy some coffee. 5 |

If anyone knows Wellington, New Zealand you know it's windy here. I've done a few tests and it does a fine job of reducing wind noise to a usable level in all but the most extreme conditions 5 |

Contrary to my impression of the photo here on the website, the Starbeam is an extremely well-designed and well-made instrument that is simple to use. It is not a cheap piece of plastic. For me, it has been well worth the price. 5 |

Easy cheap shoot through umbrella... that is what I was looking for. I have damaged similar umbrellas when they tip over in the wind outside, therefor I do not like to spend a lot on my shoot through umbrellas. This fit the bill perfectly. 5 |

I love, love, love this. I have purchased many stands in the past but none have been this nice. I will have this forever. This one is not made cheap. It is heavy but at least then you know its good. On top of that, it will not blow down in the wind. You will need to get the Avenger stand to go with it but believe me, you will not regret this purchase at all. 5 |

A windscreen is essential to suppress wind and other noises. Although this one is not exactly cheap, it is made of high-quality and dense foam. Fits my Sennheiser 416 perfectly. Highly recommended! 5 |

Got these to augment my DSLR audio chapture during weddings. They are a huge improvement over the built in mics. They don't need batteries or adjusting at all (since the cameras auto adjust audio levels), so it's pretty much plug and play. Also they come with really great wind jamers that do a great job of eliminating mild to moderate wind noise. If I had to nit-pick, I'd say the shock mount is the weak link of this system. It seems pretty cheap and when the mic is held in one position, the mount will sort of form to this position and say that way. It's not a huge deal, since I can bend it back, but it's indicative of a cheap plastic that may break after a while. But it is sepparate from the actual mic, so I'm assuming that I can buy another one if the original ever bites the dust. 5 |

No filter is better than the best filter. But if you need it for protection (sand, dust, wind, etc.) don't put cheap glass in front of expensive glass. Go with the better brands, it has much less flaring then all the cheap ones (i've tried them all). 5 |
