It took me about thirty minutes to load the docker image of Audiobookshelf on this and it works flawlessly. For anyone who loves audiobooks this a great appliance. If you have some extra cash this made everything very easy and fixed all the permission issue I had previously had. 5 |

Now that I'm up on the usage learning curve it's doing just what I was looking for (a tad slower process that I was hoping for but nice quality). I do Photoshop stuff but not any pro/semi-pro image processing so it took a bit (one day of playing with just a single slide) to figure out all the buttons. A newbie step-by-step procedure/example with ample screen shots would have helped, I expect. Initial plumbing sequence of powering up/restarting computer/ finding drivers wasn't exactly as described but eventually everybody found everybody. I do just two things now: Create a presentation jpg directly from SilverFast and create an archive file at 1/4 optical resolution (except for real important slides). I bring the archive file into Photoshop to create a useful hi-res image that's larger than the presentation format (3Mb vs 300Kb) using Photoshop tools I'm familiar with. More time with SilverFast will change that, I expect. This is not for anyone wanting to spend a weekend to digitize up a lifetime's worth of slides/film, though. 5 |

This scanner works very well scanning slides at 1200 dpi then saving to a smaller file. The image remains clear and sharp. Tried scanning at 300 and it was pixel-ly. Not sure if there is anything out there that is speedy so we remain happy at this price and speed. 5 |

You will be able to check the image you just shot on bright days..Once you get home and but the pictures on the computer they not be good. So checking the image before you leave the area you will know it the shot was good or not. I use mine all the time. 5 |
