I purchased this lamp as a spare, so I have not yet used it. However, I am very pleased that it is an actual Epson lamp and not one of the myriad of Chinese knock-offs. Service was outstanding and the price was the same as Epsons (who could not supply the lamp because it was out of stock). B&H will always be my Go T Guy for electronics and photo items. 5 |

I decided to pay extra for the 'real thing' instead of a Chinese knock-off because I've been burned by poor quality several times prior. I'm happy to say I've already dropped this several times and it is still working perfectly. I got this item to try my hand at current time-lapse work popularized by Philip Bloom and timescapes .org. It does the job. Because I am slow it took me several confused minutes to realize that I had to press the start/stop button before the gadget would work. Instruction pamphlet is practically useless. 5 |

Yes, it's a Chinese knock-off, but they actually improved on the Manfrotto design: - The tightening handle is metal, not plastic - The ratcheting function, while not effortless, makes the clamp usable in tight quarters where there isn't enough clearance for the handle to make a full 360-degree rotation. Plus it's cheaper, what's not to like? 5 |
