It’s nice to have a printer that you can choose between fast & noisey or a little slower & quieter.

I store my prints in these boxes. I'm a printer and I store my images, whose default size is 12 x 17 in boxes and these boxes are the perfect size.

This card paper is the best; it’s a paper that prints beautifully with my Epson P400 using publisher and epsonRPG and printer default settings. Imagine how much more beautifully it would print for someone who knows how to use it.

I have been experimenting with several different matte/fine arts, luster and glossy papers from Canson, Hahnemuhle, Museo and Inkpress on my Canon ip8720 printer, seeking alternatives for the excellent Canon Pro Platinum glossy paper I had been using. The conclusion is that: 1) Canon Pro Platinum is really good; 2) in terms of dynamic range, detail, fidelity of tone (using various appropriate default printer profiles), the Canson Platine Fibre Rag is simply in a league of its own. Only the Canon Pro Platinum approaches it, but its glossy finish puts it at a disadvantage in my view, especially if you want to frame your photos. For this paper, I use the default Pro Luster profile and get stunning results. Although I have a Spyder spectrometer to generate custom profiles, I feel no need to do so for this paper. Of course, I will still use other papers for specific needs, but this one will be my go-to.

I have an Epson printer, and I have used several brands and types of media. However, my default choice for everyday printing is Epson Premium Luster paper. It is the most dependable product for color profile matching, durability and archival permanence, at a reasonable price. The luster surface is perfect, whether laminated or not. Needless to say, Epson inks are vital to the formula.

I purchased this as an upgrade from my 3750 for 2 main reasons: The screen is larger and I wanted the rear feed and rear slot option. (The rear feed will feed paper from a pop-up area located at back of machine. The rear SLOT will feed paper straight through from back to front (after removing a piece and making an adjustment). The rear slot will print on media up to 1.3mm thick. Anyway - after setting up the printer, I was anxious to experiment with these features (mostly the rear slot, as I wanted to create my own decorative card stock for use with die cutter). I could only find ONE sentence in the entire user manual that addressed selecting the rear slot, and it was a NOTE: It said to select the rear slot, choose the option with the appropriate paper size. I kept choosing 8.5 x 11, but did not realize there were further options. (See first photo). However, to choose rear feed, you go into different settings, first choosing layout, then printer settings, then paper source. See 2nd photo. I think these 2 options should be located in the same place. (I use MacBook with Monterey). I also found one other limitation working from the printer console. There is a nice feature to print decorative card stock or lined paper. If you choose lined paper, you are offered the rear slot as an optional paper source; if you choose decorative card stock, you are not! I believe the rear feeder (which loads and prints without curving the paper around the way the main feeder does) will meet most of my card stock printing needs. After much research, this feeder can handle card stock of 100 pounds (or more).

Searched on B&H for a new printer, there were many to choose from along with great customer reviews and information to make a decision. Ended up purchasing the Canon Maxify MB2120. It met all the criteria I was looking for. It arrived in less than 5 days and set up was extremely easy. So far it works as advertised.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought an ink cartridge for my printer, and I was able to choose free one day shipping. It arrived on time, and it was easy to replace my new one. The new cartridge included a label to return the old cartridge which I think is great. I am glad HP recycles :)
