Cisco Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router Ip Address

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently switched to this router because the one I had kept switching my ip address. My internet would go out and equipment would not work. I'm glad I switched.

It's a wire. I love it. Just when everything is going wireless, it's nice to know that sometimes, you can get by without an IP address. I'm sure some other brand will sell you a wire for 10x the price, but in the end, it's still a wire. This wire does its job well. What's not so good about it? It's 3' long. So if you're plugging it into your phone or mp3 player, and it falls off the table, the wire won't keep it from hitting the ground.

Replaced a 6 year old linksys wireless router with this unit. My first time with a mesh system. Setup was very easy. All devices connected quickly. Internet throughput is so much better with this unit. I am using Verizon 5G home internet with this router. Getting nearly 300 mbps download consistently. I get a strong wifi signal all over my house (3300 sq ft) and outside. I am very happy with this unit.

Using this with NEC NP-M352WS 3500-Lumen Portable Short Throw DLP Projector. Powerpoint slides are about 1 second delayed. No audio via the wireless adapter. However, I am happy with the device for my purposes. I also use a hard wire for audio/video usage. After the second round of ordering, receiving, and returning the first order of the projector and this adapter, an with level II NEC tech support, I am finally able to get the devices to work together. Also, I am not going to be using this on a wireless network/router, but through the Easy Connection option (no router present at installation). It came down to one simple operation (from Mac OS 6.8): Before starting the process below, you will need to get the wireless IP address of the projector. Mine was 10.0.39.155. -click on the wireless icon at the top of the screen -click on Open Network Preferences -click on Advanced -click on TCP/IP tab -change the Configure IPv4 setting to Manually -change the IPv4 Address: to something close to your video projector's (my instance: 10.0.39.160) -click OK and then Apply Don't forget to reverse this setting when you're done using the wireless adapter in order to connect to the internet normally. This thing actually screams for all the filtering and firewall capabilities it brings. Upgrading from Cisco/Linksys to Ubiquiti UniFi has dramatically improved my overall home WiFi coverage and performance. But when I switched out the router and installed the UDM Pro, the available speed of all devices on the network jumped another 50Mbps. I'm now getting all the performance of my internet provider's plan!

I was replacing a 15 year old Netgear Firewall Router which had capped my broadband throughput at only 60MBps. With this router installed, I'm getting the full 200+ MBps that I'm paying for to my ISP. The setup is a bit complicated if you're not used to fiddling with router settings. There is a wizard with some non-intuitive presets to help with setup as there are many different options for how the router functions. I'm giving it 5 stars because of the speed, and the relatively low cost.

I bought this to replace a 10-year-old Netgear NAS and was concerned that it would be more difficult to set up than the older box. The software was easy to navigate, setup was pretty foolproof with greater flexibility than my old (now obsolete) Netgear box. My only criticism is that the box itself has no LED screen to display status/IP address, etc, but the software allows you to assign an alias for the box that survives IP address changes, so the absent screen is not an issue on my very simple home network.

The first time I used this I was on a foreign network so I didn't have the IP address to configure it. The device has on-screen controls though so it was an easy setup, just browsed to my NDI source and worked great. I used this with vMix for a remote monitor of the program stream.
