Perfect for those late night city cruises

I shoot a lot of dusk & night time city scapes,I had been using my 24-70 2.8, which has been great but really wanted the greater handheld ability of brighter glass, and the superior sharpness of a prime. I have been very happy on both accounts, there is much less aberration to the prime vrs the zoom. If you are shooting in low light stituations, and looking for true sharpness in architecture, this is the lens for you. If you excecpt to use it for many years as i do its toatally worth the coast.

I bought it recently. I used it in the City (New York) for night shooting. It performed perfectly! It's well made. In full height it may move a bit, but you can't have everything at once. If you know how to use it you'll definitely be satisfied! You just can't ignore laws of physics. This was just one thing that the thing from tripod you attach to the camera by screw started to move, but it was really after long time and some hard use. So I don't really take it as a con. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. When you hold it you can feel it's nice piece of equipment.

Has been perfect tripod for walking around the city at night. Nice and light, decent height, easy to pack and comes with a bag too.

I use this for blurring water and clouds, and city scenes at night. It is very well made, and surprisingly easy to attach to the front of my lens, even in cold weather! I decided I needed more than the B+W 5 stop variable filter, and this was at a good price point. I look forward to using it along with a warming polarizer next summer.

Adds a sweet glow to city lights, night photography and video. Good for skin in darker scenes (in my limited testing); 5 isn't as strong as I expected, but I was looking for a very visible effect. You really see the glow around city lights and bright sky. It makes for a very flared image where there is strong daylight from the sky, but it isn't overwhelming and retains detail. Looking forward to using it for interviews that need a lot of help with skin and night exteriours or dark interiors with lights.

Great complement to a 18-200mm for a day out shooting. Fast enough for night photography of city lights. Fun to use to play with perspectives.

I use it at night for astrophotography here in Cedar City, Utah. Changing batteries can cause the point of aim to be different, using this with my big battery supplies continued power for several hours.

I use this lens mostly for night photography on my EOS 5DSr and LOVE it.  While this isnt its only use - used it in city scapes, landscape, and some creative shots -, it outperforms my L-series glass when it comes to starry skies.  Just use live-view focusing and a strip of gaffers tape to secure the focus ring while shooting through the night.   I never noticed focus drift in cold nights (unlike some bigger lenses do).  So far, only the Sigma 20mm ART lens compares in image quality, but not in price, weight, and viewing angle.

Use this filter for night time city scenes and turn the lights a more natural color. This is a color correction filter that works great.
