I am a classical trumpeter and former member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The BSO currently uses the Sennheiser 8040 for recording the brass section and the were recommended by a friend who is one of the recording engineers for the orchestra so I tried a pair. For my purpose in my space and set up in the ORTF configuration they give me the most accurate clean sound of any mics I have tested and are perfect for my purpose. 5 |

I use the Bogen 24' light as a microphone support for live classical recording. It is tall enough to place in an orchestra pit at a good height above the orchestra (12' above the stage). The leveling leg permits a balanced load to be used across a step or sloped auditorium floor. The fittings are all metal, operate smoothly and lock firmly without excessive force. 5 |
