We bought this follow focus to use with our Canon 1D mark IV and a DSLR rig we have. Once set up, it performed flawlessly with our geared lenses. We are very happy about it and have no problems recommending it to others. It is very flexible and can approach your lens from multiple angles and sides. It also shows minimal backlash with a nice heavy touch to it. The only negative thing about it is it's a bit expensive, but so are all follow focuses and focus is critical. So, if you are looking for a solid follow focus, but do not want to go all the way and buy one that can rival the cost of your camera, this is a good choice for you. Just remember to get the correct gear on it. Film Cine lens gear is 0.8, I think.

As with all SmallRig gear I own, this is built solid and perfectly fits my A7r IV with Battery Grip, which was rather difficult to source. Exactly what was needed to utilize this on a Gimbal head with a long lens. Price was fair and B&H delivered with their usual expediency.

I bought this camera for a few reasons. One, I didn’t want to tote my Sony A77 gear everywhere. Two, I wanted a camera with continuous autofocus tracking, something the A77 lacked. And third, for the 24 fps for my children’s athletic events. There will be a time and place for my a77, but this RX10 IV has impressed me so much it will be hard to grab my A77 gear. It actually takes better pictures than the a77. Maybe it’s the 8 year difference in key components but I figured the A77 would still have the edge. The color and clarity is much better with the RX10 IV even zoomed all the way. The 24 fps is very impressive, getting several keepers. The 12 fps with the A77 was pretty worthless in my opinion, especially when compared to the 24 fps on this camera. Since I already owned a Sony, the menu items and dial/key setup was easy to get used to. The viewfinder app is very similar to the A77’s, which I think is the best on the market with the live view. It is really nice having just about everything you’d want in one package. My only complaints are the slow start up time and it’s high price tag.

Im a guitar player and after plugging all my gear into it, all annoying noise vanished. I recommend it to clean up power and ground related noise. Very effective.
