Clean Old Brass Instruments
Ranger Rick | 2024-05-15 06:29:48 |
We were looking for a mic that would work with vocals and instruments for Old Time and Bluegrass bands. This mic is better than we dreamed. Easy to balence. Works great with our small mixer. Great price, great product! 5 |

This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc. 5 |

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments. The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections. Versatile and great sound quality. 5 |

This device is well worth the cost! I noticed immediately, a lower noise floor, better separation of instruments, deeper, wider soundstage. Highs are clean, without glare. Mids are clean and rich. Lows have more grip and well defined. Well done iFi! 5 |

I've used this on pickups from a number of acoustic instruments: violins, mandolins, guitars, etc. It always has a clean sound and the features I need to enhance the quality (if necessary) like a ground/lift switch, impedance switch for the input (instrument/amp) and a filter switch. Plus it's passive so I don't have to worry about phantom power. I love it! 5 |

Heavy brass ring and very easy to clean optically clear glass. This thing is solid. The slim ring design still provides a firm thread surface for the lens cap to grip but does not protrude much from the front of the lens. It even makes the lens cap a bit easier to grab to remove and replace while using a hood since the lens cap is now slightly less recessed into the hood. The UV filtration is not really needed with a digital sensor but my primary goal in purchasing this product was lens protection and it fills that need nicely. 5 |

I love how well made these filters with brass rings are while not being really much more expensive than other brands. Very easy to clean with the nano coatings and offering a nice layer of protection. I shoot a lot outdoors in dusty gritty environments and I really do not like to risk polishing my lens' front element. 5 |

Not sure why there is such a jump in price going from 77mm to 82mm, but there is! B+W makes a fine filter. The brass construction makes it less likely to stick and become difficult to remove. The MRC-Nano is suppose to be easy to clean. I have not had to clean mine yet, so no comment on that feature. 5 |

This mic will pretty much blow your mind with how clean it records. The brass instrument clip isn't that great. It wouldn't stay secured on the trumpet I mounted it on. Plus, certain mutes will prevent it from mounting entirely. I'm sure the clip is very instrument dependent, so plan for backup mounting options. When in doubt, gaff tape. 5 |
