I use this for close ups on flowers and it works very well for me.

It's wide enough to get group shots, and sharp enough to crop in for close ups (using a7c). It's also been bright enough for indoor video and outside in afternoon shade. My primary uses are (1) high quality video for meetings (2) family pictures and video.

Good size! Only thing I wish it came with was a case of some sort. I usually use the passport video colorchecker for close ups and this one for wide and external shots.

Used for shooting video, especially close-ups and distance requiring zooming in. The fluid effect head is very good for panning and tilting smoothly. The design is a little more compact and lighter than some of the other similar tripods, good for transporting. Would be good to have adjustable pan and tilt drag and counterbalance but, in this price range they are not necessarily expected. A very good video tripod that would be very hard to beat for the price.

I got some great shots 9.2 miles away in Albuquerque. I also got some nice close ups, a video of a busy street and other shots 1 mile away. I am impressed. You have to have a very sturdy tripod and a remote for long shots. I really like this camera and I would recommend it even before testing the bird and moon modes which I will do soon. I have used game cameras before but have never tried a bird/close up camera like this. I found this to be a fun camera and useful tool to have. I got it to capture time lapse images of my plants and my farm. My goal is to do a time lapse video of my plumeria trees next spring when they come out of dormancy and start growing. The camera is really easy to set up and use. The hardest part is getting the focus set for the right distance of your target. They provide you with a measuring tape which comes in handy for this but I still had to do a few test shots to make sure the focus was correct. Even though Wingscapes gives you software for the time lapse video, I did not download it. I just used Microsoft Movie Maker instead to create the time lapse. There are also tons of cell phone applications that can do this. I am very happy with the purchase, it is exactly what I hoped it would be.
