back up my files, docs, music, photos, movies easy as 1-2-3. If you don't trust in cloud computing then this is a must have. a longer usb cable would be more convenient. 5 |

I have used Microsoft 365 for several years and find it convenient when updates are made to the system. I like the one drive cloud storage and the ability to share with members of my family. 5 |

This is our second DS1621+. These are quality products that are easy to deploy and secure on the web as a private cloud. I highly recommend using this product's Active Backup for Office application as a cost effective solution to backup all of Office 365 and as a cost effective private cloud storage for large rarely needed data (like camera data). Host it yourself and save 10s of thousands! 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using IronKey USB drives for well over 10 years for secure storage of sensitive personal data. Ease of use and compatibility with laptops and desktops with USB ports is a given. Good news is that this drive supports USB 3 and USB 2. The AES 256 encryption ensures data is safe and cannot be accessed even if the physical drive is lost. It is slightly smaller than a disposable cigarette lighter and has a bit of hefty feel to it unlike the others that come in a plastic case and are quite light (comparatively speaking). When plugged into a laptop, the device shows up as two additional drives - a DVD-RW drive with 92Mb of used space and no free space and a second drive that is not accessible. To use the device, the included software on what is listed as the DVD-RW drive is used to set up the storage device. The process lets the use set up a password/passphrase and makes the storage accessible. This process makes the drive really secure but the other side of the coin is that the drive cannot be shared unless others also install the included software on their laptop/desktop. So, not the ideal device for casual sharing of content but for secure transfers and retention of sensitive data, this is perfect. There is no way to accidentally lose the data. The included USBtoCloud capability connects the physical USB storage to cloud storage such as OneDrive, Google drive, Box, etc. This cloud connection is available for 5 years after which a paid subscription is needed. I did not set this up as the USB includes personal financial data which I do not want to store in the cloud. Otherwise, this option is really useful. Your data remains accessible on the cloud even if the physical drive is lost. Overall, a solid drive that ensure safe and secure storage of data with cloud backup option for additional flexibility 5 |

I needed an off computer storage solution for our family during COVID-19 lockdown. The kids were home from college doing their work, my wife working from home as well as myself. I could have gone for a traditional NAS but had read a lot of reviews on unreliability and difficulty setting them up and maintaining them. Although My Cloud Home is a sort of NAS, my understanding was that its much easier to set-up and run. I decided to go with My Cloud Home vs. a traditional NAS setup and very happy I did. Setting the unit up was super simple with the WD application and easy to access from anywhere via the mobile and desktop applications. Everything I wanted to save transferred over perfectly without a hitch. You can set up folders for documents, photos or however you want to do it. The My Cloud Home connects directly to our Netgear router and runs off our home Wi-Fi 6 network. We're on Xfinity and have had the network go down several times since installing the My Cloud Home and it has started back up without any issues at all or loss of data. The only thing I would say is that I should have gone for the 8 or 10 Gig version and may very well upgrade later on. Not sure 3 Gigs (after splitting the 6 Gig memory into two) is going to be enough down the line. But for now were only about 10% full and have a long way to go. Ours is the two drive model so you can use all 6 Gigs like it's one drive, but you loose the double back-up if you set it up that way. I prefer to have a double back-up of the data. In terms of aesthetics the My Cloud Home is a very nice looking piece of kit. We have it out in the open were it can be seen and it looks very nice.... much nicer than the standard NAS industrial looking enclosure. All-in-all, with the set-up and accessibility taken into consideration I'm really pleased with the My Cloud Home. We've been running it a number of months now without any issues what so ever. 5 |
