Cold Lamination Machine 30 Inch

I have transferred about 30 x 7 inch super 8 reels with no problems. The resolution and colour are far better than projecting and videoing. Prepare yourself for up to 4 hours per 7 reel but it can be run overnight if the film joints are OK. Rewinding is painfully slow so I used an old editing machine instead. I did find with the first few reels that frame adjustment was necessary and it helped to fun the film through for about a minute, remove the SD card, check it on the computer, delete that file and start again to make sure that exposure, resolution and frame were all OK. Also for Australian users, it's much cheaper to buy from someone like B&H than locally. Delivery was amazingly fast and I used an US/Oz adaptor; the transformer automatically adjust to our 240V power. Great machine and great results. Brian in Oz.

First, I live in NW Florida so I seldom need gloves, and when I do, liners are all I need. That said, I just returned from visiting the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and while it didn't get very cold there (mid 30's) I did get a chance to wear them on a couple of occasions. The first thing I noticed were these seemed thicker than most liners and they were definitely warmer than most liners I have used in the past. They fit very well except the fingers were just a tiny bit long. The extra length is not unusual (I guess I have short fingers), and these were a far better fit than most liners I have used. I waited too long before putting these on the first time I used them and my fingers were already cold. This usually means my fingers never warm up, so I was very surprised when, after about 30-45 minutes, my fingers did warm back up and became more flexible again. I don't believe that has ever happened before so I was VERY surprised and HAPPY about that. Before these, I have used Smartwool liners (warm but the fingers are way too long), Patagonia liners (VERY thin, great fit, finger length was perfect, but they provided NO warmth to speak of), and a pair made from Thermax (I forget the brand). These Vallerret were, by far, the best liners I've ever worn. I understand they are wind proof also, but there was no wind blowing when I used them so I cannot comment on that. Also, I didn't have cell phone coverage where I was so I didn't see if the conductive finger/thumb worked or not, but they did keep my hands warm and I was very happy about that.

The Vello 6-inch cold shoe extension bar allows me to mount both my directional microphone and my LED light on top of my Panasonic video camera. This is done without crowding previously experienced with my 4-inch bar.

The lens performed very well in cold weather (10-15 degrees F). I took 30 pictures of the Northern Lights in Tromso, Norway and they came out as well as I could have hoped, with 10 second exposure. The lens (with a Hoya 55mm NXT plus UV filter) did not fog and remained quite tight. The background is sharp, no flare.

They are a little large but I know the meidium would probably been to tight. Warm but our weather has not been too cold [30's]. Soft and comfortable.

These can be weird because some cold shoes can be tough to fit in due to machine tolerances. I appreciate the tolerance in having it as small as possible, but that can be a detriment if it takes too much persuasion to get things in and out of it. Also, locating pins on the bottom would be nice so it doesn't spin and/or back the screw out.

I used this as a display mount in a public use area. I was able to lock it down to disable movement on a 30 inch screen. Very happy with this product.

Solid set of rings at a great price. I own several sets of these rings in both one inch and in 30 mm. Vortex makes a good product and B&H has it at a great price.
