Color Calibration Software For Windows 10 Laptop

Got it very recently for my Windows 8.1 laptop and have only been using it for a few days. Overall my experience has been pretty good. The port on the IR sensor is a mini USB B and there is a slight overhang with the supplied cable since I connect the sensor to a USB on the same side as my laptop. The driver that it came with cannot calibrate this pen at all; I just used the built-in calibration tool. You need to reset the calibration if you want to re-calibrate. The pen is plug-and-play, but you may need to reload any existing browsers to get it working right. I prefer a pretty high resolution, so using the trackpad or trackpoint to move the pointer can be pretty time consuming compared to tapping with the pen. It's also very useful if you don't have enough room to properly use a mouse. Swiping left/right to go back/forward in a web browser is also pretty useful. 5 |

Worked great with my Windows 10 laptop. I did not need to use the Driver DVD. 5 |

There's nothing glamorous about color calibration, however it is a necessary task for anyone concerned about color accuracy. I purchased the SpyderX Pro to replace the Spyder 4 device I'd used until making the move to 64-bit-only systems. I've used it with the included calibration software for my MacBook Pro, but use it with the BenQ Palette Master Element calibration software for my BenQ monitor. The process is straight-forward and the end result is beautiful, and that's what matters. 5 |

Very useful accessory accompanied by a very good software to use the color calibration in Lightroom and ACR 5 |

I bought this calibration sensor to work with the latest version of NECs SpectraView II software. My old sensor was no longer supported by the new 64bit app. It is basically a rebranded X-Rite i1Display Pro. This sensor will not work with X-Rites software, nor can SpectraView II be used to calibrate non-NEC displays. For me this is no problem since I only use wide-gamut NEC displays for my photography work. The calibration with this sensor is spot on. For home use I print from Photoshop CC using a Canon Pro-100 and Canon Pro Platinum photo paper. Using this sensor and the Print Standard setting in SpectraView II (80.0 cd/m2) the color of my prints is excellent. I get the color that is on my screen. Of course, one never gets the same brightness and contrast as you get on the screen, but the color rendition is as good as I could hope for. I am very pleased. FYI... I do calibrate my MacBook Pro using the open source DisplayCAL. This software does support this sensor via ArgyllCMS and I imagine can be used to calibrate most any display with excellent results. 5 |

This was a sale-price induced purchase by an engaged non-professional. Registration and software download were not well documented, but were managed without difficulty. Users of Apple OS 11 should be familiar with OS Color Synch Utility app prior to installing and using the SpyderXElite app. Actual calibration with the Datacolor tools was quite rapid and produced a dated and re-namable profile loaded to the list retained by the OS Utility. The supplied sensor hardware and software should be useful for maintaining color calibration over time. I shall try the sample icc profiles provided for Canon and Epson printer papers on another day. Meanwhile, I will use the color card with my Colorscan 9000F scanner and third party scanner software to see pdf I can improve rendering of scanned prints and negatives. 5 |

I don't know about video editing, but this is a great monitor for photo editing. It has a 14 bit LUT which means I can calibrate using my i1 Display Pro for hardware calibration vs just software calibration. This means my color profile is internal to the monitor hardware and not the computer software. It covers close to 100% ARGB which is the color space I shoot and edit in. The detail I see in photos is much greater than what I saw in my previous monitor. You can't beat the 4K. And if I decide to take a break I can watch a movie in 4K video. Look, compared to higher end monitors, you can't beat the price on this. Lower priced monitors don't have internal LUTs. In my opinion this monitor falls between those and the higher end models costing twice as much and sometimes 3 times as much. This is not an entry level monitor for photographers but it is definitely a pro monitor at a very reasonable price. 5 |
