Color Spots On An Hp 477 Laser Printer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a HP Color LaserJet M377/477 Multi Function Printer in March 2019, for home use. I hesitated for some time before buying such an expensive printer for home use, but it was a wise decision. I had gone through 2 HP laser jet printers in the last 5 years. The worn drums were producing poor quality copies. I am now thoroughly enjoying this upgraded printer. The printed pages are clean and crisp, and the color is beautiful. Every printed copy has a professional look. I am still learning how to use this printer, but within the next 6-10 months I hope to have mastered using most of its features. While I enjoy using my HP Color LaserJet M377/477, I do have three concerns: (1) I am not able to fax documents with ease as I could with my other 2 HP printers. In fact, the same phone line used with the other printers and house phones does not work with this printer. (2) Scanning pages to my designated e-mails is still confusing and not with ease. (3) Removal of printed copies from the printer is a bit of a challenge. The printed pages do not push out far enough, so retrieving them is not as easy as compared to other printers. (4) HP toner cartridges (410A) are extremely expensive, more than I really want to pay.

This printer replaces a very similar printer (Laser Jet Pro 477) so the learning curve has been shortened and there are no surprises. First, this printer/scanner/copier/Fax was easy to install. I did everything myself except lift the printer from the packing box to my desk. Thank you for making that task so simple! Learning to operate this machine was also very simple. As already mentioned, I used a similar HP printer for many years. My comments about the functioning of this printer are all positive. The print quality is excellent! The machine operates with minimal noise. The sheet feed has not created problems so far. One purely personal reaction to this printer is my dislike for the “modern” design of the cabinet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently replaced my old setup of an all-in-one inkjet printer and a separate black and white laser printer with this HP printer. I mainly print documents with occasional color printing, and I scan using my phone so I wasn't looking for a scanner function in the new printer. Easy Setup, Almost - Unboxing and initial setup were a breeze. The printer itself is a bit heavy, but getting it ready to go was quick. I plugged it in, answered a few setup questions, and downloaded the app. However, I missed a crucial detail: this HP printer requires a wired ethernet connection to set up with the app. After a quick trip to the store for a cable, I was back on track. Once I connected the cable, the app found the printer immediately and I was ready to print. This HP printer is a speed demon! It handles both documents and photos with ease, and the double-sided printing is equally fast. Even when using duplex printing, the speed is impressive. The documents are crisp and sharp, and even photos look good on this machine. For a color laser printer, this HP model has a surprisingly small footprint. It won't take up a ton of space on your desk. It also has a handy bypass tray that lets you print on specialty papers, which is a feature I might use in the future. Overall, a Great Choice. This HP printer is a great replacement for my old inkjet and laser printer combo. It's fast, produces high-quality prints, and has a small footprint. The only hiccup during setup was the requirement for a wired ethernet connection, but once I had that, the app setup was quick and easy. If you're looking for a fast and versatile color laser printer for home or office use, this HP model is a great option.

My HP M452 color duplex laser printer developed ugly vertical black bands on all prints. Nothing I tried would eliminate this problem. Finally, I decided to replace the OEM black cartridge with a genuine HP branded cartridge and the problem went away. Live and learn...

Superb printer. My first Brother printer and I love it. I initially bought and HP Color Laser printer but it was a piece of junk which I returned. I then bought this Brother Color Laser and doubt I'll ever go back to HP.

I had been using an HP color laser jet for 10 years. It was streaking and I wasn't sure $450 of new cartridges would fix the problem. So I decided time for a new printer. This thing is so fast. Colors look great. It just works. And now I don't have to feel so terrible like I am buying a new printer every time I will need new ink.
