The combi boom stand is a super design. We use it for location lighting as a hair light. Ease of set up is great. Compact design, ease of set up, solid support for light head. We love the one piece functionality.

As expected, this Manfrotto Combi Boom Stand is very well made useful tool. The counter weight sand bag is perfect; rugged and definitely needed to take the pressure off the boom locking mechanism. Nice height, nice extension. AND very portable. Get it, you'll like it.

I previously owned a manfrotto boom kit and wanted the flexibility the combi stand offers. This stand is exactly what I was looking for.

Purchased 018 set to marry to Manfrotto 420B combi-light stand with boom.Set up instruction of little assistance however set-up is simple. Casters simplifies movement of light stand, especially when stand is top heavy. Casters cleverly fold in on stand when stand is folded up, however the design does restrict complete closure.Your sandbag/s will provide any necessary braking. The advantages of the castors do outweigh the disadvantages.

I've used a Manfrotto 420B Combi-Boom Stand for many years and it has been great, but I needed something more heavy duty. I bought this Avenger Stand along with the Avenger D600 Mini-boom, and the combo is outstanding. The reach, stability, ease of movement, and strength couldn't be better. I also purchased a drop down pin which remedies some of the problems I had with the Manfrotto 420B. I did a lot of research prior to this purchase, going back and forth between Avenger and Matthews. I'm thrilled with the quality of this stand, and would buy it again. The only thing I would change is the addition of air-dampening for safer lowering. I haven't pinched any fingers yet, but I'm certain I will. ;-)

I'm using two of these to hold reflectors with my Manfrotto 420B Combi Boom Stand. The tension level is perfect. I'm very satisfied.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This small combi backpack just meet my expectation, have a lot of compartments for my stuffs, using this for working and the size just perfect if you are using public transportation. Also used this for travelling great for cabin.

I got these casters to use with the Manfrotto combi boom stand. They are a very heavy duty and roll smoothly. The locking mechanisms are very stiff, but work great. Only a few bucks more than the smaller (75mm) version so I went for these expecting them to roll better on less-than-perfect surfaces (rugs, etc.). Attach fairly easily to compatible stands with an allen wrench (not included). Only negatives... they are fairly heavy and would have to be removed to completely collapse the legs of the stand. Exactly what I expected though.
