Commander Remote Car Starter

To have the ability to use a remote commander for your setup is a must have. Ease of use and control are priceless.

I’ve been using Sony digital cameras for almost 20 years. I’m still using the Remote Commander (wired remote) I purchased in 2006. I recently purchased my first mirrorless digital camera, the Sony A7R4. I discovered that the connection for the wired remote was different. It is now a multi/micro USB connection. I purchased the RM-VPR1 Remote Commander and was very pleased to discover that it is supplied with two cables. One fits the A7R4 and the other fits my older Sony cameras. I’ve used it a few times and it works very well with any of my Sony cameras.

As an alternative to the much larger Sony Remote Commander (which I also have for playback on a home monitor), the Vello Remote works very well and is much less expensive. A lot smaller and the included carabiner ring makes it handy and readily accessible for use. There was only one minor problem...the included battery was almost dead on arrival and had me initially wondering why the remote was working erratically. A check with my ZTS Battery Checker indicated a new battery was needed. Also note that, for the NEX 6, the remote control selection (required to use it in remote mode) in the drive options can remain set and single shots can still be made with the shutter release button.

This remote flash commander is a big improvement over the previous version. Besides having 5 groups and other new features, I can now operate the modeling lamp on my V1 flash directly from this remote.

This flash works great, it rotates, swivels, and covers a lot of area. I purchased this flash with the Air 1 commander, and they sync in less then 3 seconds. The flash has plenty of control capability, as well can be operated remotely, and it comes with a small stand, for impromptu remote flash photography. I am a novice photographer, but this flash makes my shots look great, by offering flash lighting control, so I dont over expose my photos, nor under exposed, and I dont have to keep repositioning the remote light source, because I can increase or decrease its flash power. I paired the flash with the Air 1 commander and on my Sony A7R ii and thus far, I have a realiable flash system that I can take anywhere.

This remote commander is exactly what I needed. Again, I make my purchase with B&H, which proved to be the right choice. Not only did they have the item in stock but they were quick getting it to me in Europe. The remote commander is easy to use but it is a bit clunky to clip on the tripod. Regardless, I can control the zoom much easier with the commander and I've eliminated the slight shake when I stop taking movies. This will surely provide another element of professionalism to my movies.
