The 5-star rating is for the hardware. The SSD and RAM are blazingly fast, and there is plenty of room for expanding both memory and storage. And I am glad that HP still offers a choice to purchase a PC with a read-write optical disk. On the other hand, the operating system (Windows 11 22H2), gets 1.5 stars at best. Useful commands have been hidden behind additional layers of context menus, and the Taskbar customization is now limited to the point where I can't uncombine taskbar icons or change them into text labels as in Windows 7. Microsoft needs to realize there is a good reason why hieroglyphics fell out of favor! Finally, the placement of the taskbar icons and especially the Start menu -- which are all now centered -- violates usability principles, as they move around the bottom of the screen depending on how many programs you have open, so before clicking you have to look directly and make sure where they have moved to. All these user-interface defects required extensive modification with Start11 and WindowBlinds, which make it possible to return to a sensible interface.

I could not upgrade the firmware from Godox through my windows 10. So after a computer professional looked over the situation said that Windows 10 would not recognize the upgrade due to the time Godox wrote the firmware upgrade. He used Windows 7 and the firmware upgrade worked.

As long as you have basic computer skills and some common sense. you will like this product. I have had it installed for about 9 months now. NO ISSUES AT ALL. I am an over the road truck driver and have a lot of business doc's I need to store and access when I'm on the road. I have a short cut to my 2100 on my desktop, one click and I'm looking at all my files stored in a safe place at home. It's WD so it has to be good! My first computer was Windows 3.1 machine.

If you have a computer running Windows on a legacy hard disk, you really have to upgrade. It saved me from having to buy a new computer.

I have used Canon ink jets for years now and have never had a problem with the quality or color...The one time that I tried a after market ink jet from a popular office supply chain I had problems with my computer. I then contacted teck support and had them tell me I had uninstall windows and reinstall them only to have the same windows issue...I then isolated the printer and my problem was fixed...The after market ink jet was corrupting my computer drivers...Never again, I allways stick with Canon!
