This adapter worked without anything needed except to plug it into a Thunderbolt 4 port on my Mac Studio, power up my Apple LED Cinema Display and plug its minidisplayport connection into the adapter. The display is fully functional including the three connection usba hub on the back of the display. My Mac Studio running Ventura 13.1 recognizes the display and it is shown along with all of its functions in the displays settings on Ventura. I am using the LED Cinema Display as an extended display with an Apple Studio Display as the main display. Everything works beautifully.

I switched to a Mac Studio recently after spending the last 10 years editing video on iMac, and this monitor holds up incredibly well. No, it is not a 5K Retina display. However, it is about $1,000 less expensive than an Apple Display, and after using it for two weeks, I'm not noticing any major differences. The color and the resolution are high quality and very suitable for editing 4K video. This monitor also connects directly to the Mac Studio through a USB-C, and it started right up the first time. (I had read reviews that firmware needed to be updated on the monitor to use the USB-C connection, but I didn't not experience this). The 31.5 display is also a nice upgrade over the 27 iMac - that extra bit of real estate is always welcome. It takes up about the same amount of space on my desk as the iMac did. The matte screen is also great. The Retina Displays were too glossy with too many reflections, whereas this monitor minimizes and soften reflections. I'm very happy with this purchase, and if you're looking for a cost-effective alternative to an Apple Display, I would recommend the Dell Ultrasharp 31.5 4K HDR Monitor.

I bought two of these to use with my MacBook Pro M1 Max as a video editing workstation. ***Note that the only way I was able to display 4K at 60 hertz on both monitors simultaneously was to plug BOTH monitors directly to the MacBook via USB-C to DisplayPort cables. Once I did that and stopped trying to get them to work through the Thunderbolt 4 Dock I have, everything looks excellent.*** The resolution is great, as I can have Premiere Pro open on both monitors with one of the two showing the footage in the program window at close to actual size, which helps to see all the detail of the 4K image while editing. Colors look really good, and while this isn't a reference monitor designed for color grading Hollywood movies, it's plenty accurate for my videography work. Aside from video editing, text is super sharp and crisp, and photos and websites look excellent. Since it's an LCD, black levels are never going to look as inky black as they do on an OLED display, but that's to be expected. You can always get a small OLED TV to use as a makeshift client reference monitor. I originally wanted the Apple Studio Display, but at $1600 for one monitor, it was way too expensive for me. On Black Friday, I was able to snag TWO of these Asus ProArt 27 displays for under $800. That's less than half of ONE Apple display! Sure, it's not made of shiny aluminum, but who cares? Image quality is all I need, and this delivers in spades. Plus, they come with VESA mounting holes in the back as standard, so I was able to place them on a two-monitor VESA mounting arm and free up a bunch of space on my desk. I know the Apple display is 5K and this one is 4K, but two 4K monitors side by side get me way more resolution and work space than one 5K monitor. All in all, I heartily recommend this Asus ProArt 4K monitor to anyone looking for a high-res 27 LCD for content creation and general computing on a Mac (as long as you plug it in directly and not through a docking station).

I was initially going to try to use an old Apple 23 Cinema Display I have, but after reading about the various monitors out there, I became aware of scaling problems and I just wanted it to work out of the box. I didn't know it had a Surround Sound Music System in it. Being a musician, that is a sweet plus. The size and clarity is perfect for me.

The missing piece to connect my Apple LED Cinema Display to my new Mac Studio.

We bought this to use with a Mac Mini at our part-time office--we use an Apple Studio Display in the main office to do photo editing. This is a GREAT monitor for the money and is as simple as can be to set up and start using.

I like and trust Apple Displays for their beautiful image and color accuracy. I retouch photographs and color grade videos and films. The Apple monitor is accurate and bright with great resolution. It's a good size and small footprint on my desk. I purchased it with the new Mac Studio. It works well with the new computer. I purchased the Apple 27 Studio display with just the tilt option and it works fine. It sits nicely above the Mac Studio computer. The stand doesn't take up much desk space. There is no power switch for the monitor. As soon as you turn on the computer it is on and ready for viewing. I also like that there is no sleep light to keep flashing when the monitor is off or sleeping. The bezel around the viewable screen is a reasonable size and smaller than my other LG monitor. The Apple Display is easy to setup. Just plug it in and plug in the included Thunderbolt cable to the computer. Both cables are a soft and flexible black cable. I think the price is reasonable for the Apple Studio Display. My first Apple Display was the HD 24 version and cost around $1899 to $2199. Many years later the 5K 27 version is less money than that. I think that's a good deal. And much more affordable than the 32 XDR 6K monitor. I'm very pleased with the Apple Studio Display, as it just works well and looks great.

The iSight camera on my older Apple Display didn't play well with my new Mac Studio. This Xcellon seems to work great; plug and play, auto focuses well, and color balance is a whole lot better than the older iSight camera. Microphone works fine, privacy cover is a nice touch. I use it for Zoom, Facetime, and Quicktime. For the price - this is a good deal.

Fits the Apple Studio Display in portrait mode. Sturdy material and stays in position. Nice and minimal look. For Apple Studio Display, you must rotate the display clockwise (the camera end up on the right) in order for the software to pick up the rotation. What?!
