Compare Canon And Sony Digital Cameras

To be honest, I have nothing to compare it to...since going digital I have only used Canon (and Nikon before that for film) until now that I use a Sony a7IV. All of my cine and photo friends who went to Sony with a load of Canon lenses recommended this hands down. I love the design and feel of it. So far so good! 5 |

I have used other brands of tape, but none can compare to the Sony Digital Master Mini. You can rest assured that no other tape will be placed in the caste compartment for fear of poor quality video. Harold 5 |

The video and sound quality turned out quite good. Compare with the Canon VIXIA HF R200 this Sony camcorder is better and got a lot more features. Really like the dual catch to get photo automatically taken when people smile. Love the slow motion, too, but wish it can take more than 3 seconds, it's too short. Also like to have higher resolution for the stills it's only 3 MP. All Sony camcorders allow to use a bigger battery that's a must feature. As the Canon puts the battery in a fixed space which can only allow a small one lasts only about 1 hour that's really useless. I have returned the Canon and got this. I love the small size, very easy to bring for any occasions. 5 |

The quality of the image that comes from this camera is amazing! I have always used DSLRs like Canon, Sony A7sII, etc and they do not even compare. There is some quirks about the camera like battery life, no viewfinder, etc. But that is a trade off for the amazing quality. 5 |

As a professional cameraman, I have been using these Sony Digital Master HDV tapes for about 10 years for commercials and web videos. I have about 600 in my tape vault, all shot on my Sony Z1U and FX1 cameras. The tapes are extremely dependable. Amazingly, in all these years I've only seen a few momentary drop-outs, and I have never lost a scene to tape damage. These days I use my HDV cameras for second or third cameras on many shoots, or when I need a special look such as low shutter speed. I am very glad that Sony continues to make this tape, and that B&H continues to sell them. 5 |

While digital technologies continue to be perfected with professional camera use and their widespread applications, the latest Sony RX1RII fixed Zeiss lens camera (other cameras allow long-lens variants) exceeds expectations, especially when printing work on a large scale (with the Epson Stylus Pro 9900). While some relatively minor imperfections exist as with all cameras that professionals adjust to, the expansive quality of color, remarkable low-light resolution, extraordinary image quality and virtual unlimited visual potentials provide challenges that move into unchartered territory for artists (see attached site-specific photographic installation of 112x152cm prints). The most problematic issue is not Sony's: Adobe Photoshop has abandoned the long supporting professional community by not making a plug-in for this camera's RAW files (ARW in Sony terms). Two alternatives: 1) join the CC monthly feed of Adobe Photoshop (APS), abandoning the experienced professional use of all former Photoshop versions, or 2) for 99$ purchase the most basic APS Elements software that notes the Sony RX1RII RAW files are supported, at least noted in Elements literature. What a way to treat loyal professionals and Sony over the years, claiming that CC is better without meaningful details justifying the obvious money first, customer second policy for purchasing the CC version. Not mentioning inevitable future rises in CC prices, non-copyright protections in-Cloud, and not allowing printing in your studio with your own APS, even when CC RAW is tiff converted. Sony's RX1RII with Zeiss lens and its internal digital processor chip is remarkable for what the eye can see (numerous professional digital cameras now exceed what can be seen without mention), even with the rare if not unprecedented 600$ additional cost recently by Sony. 5 |

i use this lens on both leica film cameras and on a Sony NEX-5 for digital. It is very well built and very versatile. I love the 1.5 aperture for portraits and I find the bokeh very pleasing. Some do not like the style of the photos generated by this lens, but I do very much. On the Sony, it is a joy to use and very easy to manually focus with the focus peaking feature and manual assist. it takes 46mm filters so you may have to get a new size if your other leica lenses are 39mm. 5 |
