This rig has been reviewed hundreds of times and I'm not sure I can add any superlatives to what has already been said. I figure this model will be discontinued in favor of mirrorless so I got one while they're still available. I would prefer to tweak this thing, but at the request of B&H I'll offer what I can. After six weeks or so I can't say I've seen the best it has to offer just yet. I live in the Ohio valley and it rains almost daily and when it isn't, heat haze and humidity are present not to mention the smoke from Canada. Like all cameras I own I've got duds and winners from this one too. As stated I can't add to what's been written, but I can compare it to my inventory of digital cameras. It seems to focus better that my D750 BUT it doesn't seem as good in low light. It will AF on par with my D500 AND allow cropping without falling apart as fast. They make a great wildlife combination. It AF better and beats my Canon 6D II in resolution, but it's a newer rig. The same with my Canon 7D II. It like the D500 being a crop sensor won't allow cropping as well. The AF on the D850 is clearly superior to the 6d II and the 7D II. It falls a bit short against my Canon R5. The AF on the 850 may be a bit better due to the R5 wanting to hunt. The resolution of the R5 is in another league as is frame rate and other features relative to mirrorless. As of now I'd rate the R5 better BUT it's early and I haven't tweaked the 850 as yet. IF your willing to give up mirrorless features like lighted viewfinder and reviews from it and the raw speed of the mirrorless, I believe one can make this rig work. 5 |

I was so excited to get my adapter!! When my uncle passed away he left me his old canon cameras and lenses and now I can use them on my mirrorless eos m50 camera.. The shots I have taken are excellent with the adapter!! Thank you so much. 5 |

This is perfect for smaller set-ups, especially if you're using a mirrorless camera or one of the smaller cine cameras from Sony, Canon, or Blackmagic. It weighs so little that it doesn't add much weight to your ring, making it ideal for run and gun set-ups. 5 |

I am frustrated that most dslr and mirrorless cameras lack a GPS. Especially for trips to foreign countries I find it really great to have the location recorded. I find it stupid to have to use my iPhone to make sure I have the location. Workarounds connecting time my iPhone are a pain and don’t stay in sync. I use the Canon GPS on my Canon XF400 camcorder and it works great for both video and photos. 5 |

Just what I need for both of my mirrorless cameras. Now I can use all of my Canon EF lenses. It's worth the price tag. 5 |

It fits the hot-shoes on all my DSLR's and mirrorless Canon cameras. I've used this to position a mic away from the lens to reduce focus motor noise pick up and to also hold a Lume Cube front-fill light. The cold-shoes are snug and the base shoe locks to the camera. It's solid, strong and fits. Dependable and does the job. 5 |

Especially with Canon discontinuing the 5D series and moving on to mirrorless cameras, this camera has become an uncool dinosaur in short order. However, it is still great with indie film, vlogging, and photography. Many Canon lenses work wonderfully, and this thing really does do professional (you can get paid with it) work in multiple categories. Still one of the best deals. 5 |

The Canon RF85mm f1.2L is a sharp prime lens for the R series mirrorless cameras. With a large aperture, it provides great Bokeh. A little bit on the heavy side but works great with my R5. 5 |

I have used a variety of mirrorless cameras, starting with Sony A7s and A7rII and then the GH5 and most recently the Canon EOS R. The only camera that Ive held on to long-term is the GH5, so I was very excited when I heard Panasonic was releasing a full-frame mirrorless camera. Now that it has arrived, it is truly the most professional, robust, and beautiful mirrorless camera Ive used. To complement my GH5, I wanted a full-frame mirrorless as well. I bought and tested out the Canon EOS R, but found it frustrating ergonomically and with hindered video specs (big crops, no stabilization, etc), it required a lot of compromises. It took beautiful images, but for video (which is what I mostly do), the GH5 outperformed it in every way. Next to the EOS R (and definitely all the Sonys), the Panasonic S1 feels like a true professional camera. Its a bit heavier than the other mirrorless cameras, but since I mainly use Sigmas 24-70, 18-35, or 50-100mm, once you have the lenses on there, its not a huge difference. Its actually more comfortable because the grip is so nicely designed. REALLY looking forward to the 10-bit, V-Log update in a couple of months as well as the Sigma EF L adapter in a few weeks. Will really help make this camera shine. With Sigma officially on board to make a lens collection and with Panasonics track record of amazing lenses, the L-Mount and Panasonics full frame cameras will be the system to beat in the near future. 5 |
