Comparing Camera Lenses

Comparing Arca-Swiss to other tripod heads is like comparing Zeiss lenses to the others. It lives up to and exceeds all expectations. Being I've just got it, I haven't been able to REALLY test it out as yet. I like the construction, finish, function and size. All perfect! 5 |

After comparing compact cameras, Canon G5x , Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III and the Panasonic Zs100, i have choosen ne the Zs100 from Panasonic Very nice and easy to use. Good features, the zoom is ok as i have no lenses to carry. This camera is for traveling and for a carry on camera for street photo when i do not carry my big outfit for photo expedition with tripod, lenses etc. I already have a D7100 Nikon for this purpose. This Zs 100 is my second camera and i like it a lot. It has a raw format, wich is very good. The 4k photo is very hot tu use. Very happy with it. Fast on photo shooting too. 5 |

I read all the blogs and reviews of folks comparing this to more affordable lenses, but I had been wanting to try Zeiss for a long time. This thing produces some of the most beautiful bokeh I've ever seen. So gorgeous and magical that I almost don't want anything in the plane of focus. Is it a great value lens? Absolutely not. Is it better than it's Fuji/Tokina/sigma counterparts? Depends on your preferences. Does it have unique character that is evident in the photo? Definitely. 5 |

Bought these lenses after seeing a review comparing them to Xeens. Found they had excellent clarity and sharpness. The images look as good as our $4,000 Sigma lenses. Will be buying more of these. 5 |

It is possible to find things NOT to like about this lens, particularly when comparing at a pixel level against the $$$ L lenses. However, with a little practice, it's also easy to find LOTS of things to love. It's light, compact, affordable, has huge range, focuses lightning fast, has great VC (IS) and it's truly civilized. As long as you stay between F8 and F22, your images will be nice and sharp all over. My one gripe is a fairly generous amount of chromatic aberration at 300mm, especially around the edges. So, I save that focal length for when I really need it, and clean up in PS. No big deal. This has performed flawlessly in my EOS RP and is even recognized by the built-in distortion correction in the camera's software. Super! My prime and L lenses sit basically unused. This Tamron is just too much fun! 5 |

Extremely lightweight and completely another type of beast if comparing with either Nikon or Canon plastic lenses. Interchangeable mount makes it a really cool lens for many situations. In PL version, you can also add a 2x Extender and get a 140-400mm with still a extremely good quality and very useful for wildlife as well as other appplications. Mount is very solid and weight helps to move quickly as well. Wether you want to shoot a film, a comercial, a concert or music video, having this lens will open you to a whole new world of possibilities due to its characteristics. The quality of this lens surpassed my expectations honestly but since it is not a rehoused still lens, but a whole new cinema lens design it makes sense. Many grumpy cinematographers would still say this is neither a DSLR lens nor a High End cinema lens, but I can tell you this lens is up to compete with bigger and more expensive lenses anytime for a much lower price, which still is not low but worth each penny. 5 |

I have been looking at this lens since its release and like many others, have been comparing it to the Tamron. I also have been wondering whether it was worth the extra money to go to the new Canon 100-400 II. However, when the price dropped below $$and the Sigma lens dock was thrown in for free, I had to pull the trigger and purchase the lens. This is my first non-Canon L lens, so I was concerned about quality, particularly autofocus performance. I have had the lens for about 2 weeks and have shot about 500 images using a Canon 7D Mk II. I have been very satisfied thus far. Autofocus is quick, comparable to my L lenses. Image quality is very good. It is a beast of a lens to hand shoot for any length of time, but that was expected. Build quality is adequate, but there is a noticible difference from L lenses, particularly the switches. But for the price, it far exceeds what one could reasonably expect. Highly recommend. 5 |

I spent a lot of time comparing this lens to the other brands and the L lenses in this price range. I am known to research things to death, so when I finally landed on this lens, I was still relatively unsure if it was the right choice. I took this lens with me to the Caribbean and it was fantastic! I wouldn't think twice about buying this lens again. The combination with the hood and filter was awesome and they are very inexpensive options that you can't do without. 5 |

Great image quality, small package (comparing taking lenses having ~2.8 aperture and equivalent focal length coverage), up-to-date functionality and autofocus performance, great build quality. I don't need to purchase any other lenses, maybe get a renter when I want to do milky way or wildlife. If it has IS and Tamron style removable tripod collar, it will be the greatest lens for 95% of photo-taking tasks. 5 |

Bought this initially to have another wide angle lens to double with my 16mm2.8. Comparing both lenses the 28 is nice and tack sharp. Shallow dof works nicely for closer portraits if needed and the f2 is awesome for astrophotography. Love it 5 |
