I recently upgraded one of the shop computers and in addition to a new updated motherboard I chose the Intel i7-11700K processor. It was easy to install and worked perfectly out of the box. I am using a 360 AIO water cooler so the processor temperatures are within a respectable range. It operates most of our CAD programs at the optimum range and is comparable to the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with the programs we use, though this processor was less expensive than the Ryzen processor. 5 |

Put one of these “power strips” in your trunk or shop immediately for use when you need to have your phone charger or laptop computer connected when you’re also using power tools that throw huge (inductive) spikes back into the line. These are ruggedized and have the requisite rubber boots on each end to protect things should they fall off your workbench. Most cheaper devices are not as well designed or constructed as this one. 5 |
